Ilsa is a more ideal female partner for Ethan than even Julia. Former MI6. Trained in combat and weapons.

Listen, I love Hayley Atwell. I love S1 of Agent Carter. I had no problem with Grace. But she escaped three times from Ethan and Ethan nearly died getting hit by a train. And Ethan wants to help her? Wants her part of the team? I'm like WTF? Ethan hardly knows her and her life is more important in saving than his own? Huh?

We got Ilsa since 2015. Since Rogue Nation, she's been a big help. Ethan and Ilsa had never even kissed on the lips! Vanessa Kirby (who reminds me of Lady Gaga) is the least attractive actress in it and even her White Widow got to kiss Ethan in Fallout. Vanessa got to kiss Tom on the lips that Rebecca never got.

Why kill 8 years of sexual tension buildup between Ethan and Ilsa only to replace her with a thief nobody in the audience should trust yet? Losing Ilsa is big. This is why I had to take a half point off and why I can't put it higher than GP and Fallout. After Ilsa got killed, I was kinda bothered the rest of the way like when Han Solo died.

I don't see the chemistry of Ethan + Grace as strong as Ethan + Ilsa. Ethan looks like he only wants to groom Grace. While Ethan and Ilsa gave glances to each other or they'll hug on a rooftop like they've fallen in love with each other. It's like a strong bond even without any sex.

Ethan + Ilsa forever! That was the ideal couple in MI. That beats Ethan + Julia by a huge margin. What a wasted opportunity. Oh, well. Looking forward to Part Two. Part One moves much faster that second time. The big action scenes: Rome chase, Venice (my fav), and train.

While Ilsa does get killed in Venice, that entire scene in that party is still my favorite for the entire film. Music and lighting was perfect. I love seeing Ethan, Ilsa, Grace, Gabriel, Paris, and Alanna meeting up. I like the tension in the air with the major players there. Reminds of the Driftmark episode in House of the Dragon.

I'm not interested in Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts. Looks like 2024 is promising. I think 2023 has mostly suck for movies. Last year and 2019 were much better. At least we get new seasons of House of the Dragon and The Boys next year and maybe for Stranger Things, Cobra Kai, and Wednesday.
