I'm working on a bottle cap table. I bought and unfinished coffee table and I made a 3" frame that I glued to the top to form the pool for the bottle caps. The frame is a little over 0.4" tall and the bottle caps are about 0.28" tall. The pool area is 18"x42". I am staining the table with a water-based wood stain. I will do an epoxy seal coat in the pool area and use oil-based wipe on polyurethane everywhere else. I was planning to seal any gaps between the frame and the table top with craft glue that dries clear. I was planning to use the same glue to glue the bottle caps down so that they won't float away. One of the things I'm concerned about is air escaping from under the bottle caps for two reasons. The first is that I don't want any bubbles. The second is that the epoxy level could change (lower) as air escapes from underneath the bottle caps. Finally, does a heat gun work as well as a torch for popping bubbles? I have a heat gun that I bought years ago for stripping paint. Any tips you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I only have one chance to get this right and I don't want to screw it up.

If I seal my wooden bar top with one epoxy and pour with your product, will there be any issues?

I am. making a charcuterie board to look like a football field. Used green water paint to cover the board in “grass”. Most concerned about fish eye imperfections. Would the seal coat mitigate them.

I heard of epoxy yellowing overtime is this something I need to take into consideration? I’m on the fence on what to do my butcher block countertops with, epoxy seems good especially considering around the sink area…?
