How to Break 80 with an everyday swing (Part 2/2)

JOIN THE MOVEMENT

It's the back nine of my buddy, Didi's round at Watermill golf course. If you think this video provides some value, like and share it please!

I've included his handicap sheet and some trophy acceptance pictures from the competitions he's won along with the scores he shot to get those wins. So for all the salty fellows, read it and weep.

Didi shows us his back nine. He needs +3 to break 80 and hits a couple stumbling blocks. Not least of which are his lack of sleep and gin and tonic hangover.

Some key concepts here are less specific to gameplay, but are probably more important to your overall performance. Stay tuned to the end and let's hope I can edit my latest videos for more value.

Great!! Thanks yall. I went to the course today and played 9 holes with your process from the "breaking 90" video. I didn't even take my driver to the course. I teed off 4 times with a 3 wood and the rest i teed off with a 7 iron. My goal was to shoot 45 or less on the 9 holes. On my first two holes I chunked 2 shots on both holes and made 7s on both (one was a par 5 and the other a par 4). The 7s killed me. However, the rest of the round I made 2 pars and the rest bogeys. I stuck with the process and will continue to keep the driver out of my bag along with the rest of my long irons. It was hard at first to not want to try to make long shots to the green instead of breaking the long shots in two but I stuck with it and it makes the game more fun. I have been playing golf for 27 years and I would always become flustered because I can't hit consistent shots. Your process of breaking 100, breaking 90 and breaking 80 showed me I can do these things to better my golf game. I had to swallow some pride and accept that I will never be able to be a scratch golfer but I also love the game enough that I don't want to quit it either. But shooting in the high 90s and low 100s is not fun. I had fun today because I played the course instead of trying to dominate the course. Watching everyday people play, as your videos show, is a great encouragement. I love your concept and I hope you guys are able to continue making these. God bless.

It warms my heart that Didi probably scores better than 99% of the people who have negative comments about his swing! #NoPicsOnScorecards #GiveHimYourMoney

Didi has the best hand-eye coordination I've ever seen to be able to be that consistent with that swing. What a playaaa.

Wadda playa! Very relatable distances. Keeps it in the fairway, money with the woods, and solid short game… definitely an inspiration!!

doesnt matter if you throw a zorro sign in your backswing... so long as at point of impact things line up. loving the vids.

Love Didi's swing and game. Stays in play, and has a wicked short game. Haters can choke on that Hater-ade.

That is a FANTASTIC video... I wenr from a 15 handicap to a 6.5 employing many of the same methods.... every golfer with a 12 plus handicap should watch this

You have excelled yourself with these 2 videos in production quality, golf course management advice, and cocking a snook at golf snobbery!

Going through your back catalogue of videos Matt and came across these two. I love how Didi has a unique swing of his own yet still manages to play so well. Anything that goes against "you must swing like this, you must do as I say" wins me over. You have created an excellent catalogue of Vlogs and I am learning so much about course management. Thank you very much for your effort and time you put into these. I hope there are many more to come bud 👍

I just love Didi’s swing. It’s so unorthodox yet so consistent... it’s wonderful

That was really useful. Cheers dude. It’s a pity there has to be haters out there. Didi gets his business done in his own unique way. You have to respect his scoring ability.

Go Didi!!! I could tell by watching both parts, his body language, he just goes about his business and plays his game!!reminds me of how my dad played when he was younger. That attitude makes for a good player. Don’t worry about how other people play. Basically be comfortable in you own skin.

This isn’t an every day swing, this is just straight ballin..I’m so obsessed with making my swing look solid and sound and then this guy is jumping around on his swings and I’m like “maybe I should try this instead” I love it

Ok guys - I went back to the course this morning and played 18 and continued following your "how to break 90" process. I shot a 91 but I had two triples on par 5s. I have decided to take my 3 wood out of my bag for the time being. I used it for both par 5s today and it did get me into trouble on those 2 holes (which led to my triples). So, I started using my 5 iron off the tee. As I mentioned in an earlier post, on Saturday I used my 6 iron off the tee but I got real comfortable with the 5 iron today which on most par 4s left me between 160 and 180 in for my second shot. If I had a second shot of 200 or longer I broke it up into 2 shots as your process requires. All in all it was a good day and even though it was only my 2nd try with your process I can see how I can get better with this process. I can actually work on hitting the ball to a certain spot and knowing where to miss it as I get more and more familiar with hitting the same clubs over and over. After my round today I worked for some time on my chipping to try and clean that up. Guys, I cannot thank you enough for what your videos have done for me. I know I have said it already in previous posts but the key that has been most helpful to me has been watching everyday people manage the course with the game they have and not trying to do something outside their ability. God bless!!

Didi needs his own channel! #TeamDidi

I think these two videos alone will help a lot of golfers in understanding that golf is like a game of chess - one shot sets up the next!

All the haters can GFY! His swing isn’t textbook but he makes it work and that’s all that matters. Keep the videos coming!

I always tell my friends, "You don't get points for pretty." The scorecard doesn't have a section for aesthetics. A 180 yard worm burner and a nice 180 draw both go 180 yards. What matters is if it 's still on the short grass. Awesome job Didi! Most of the haters probably can't score as low as you, so don't pay them any mind. Just keep doing what you're doing.
