Everything happening in America that's not good is from the top! By design in my opinion also

"Content but not satisfied" is how I've described much of my life. A lot of people think that being content equates to satisfaction or happiness. Wrong. Satisfaction is related to _accomplishing or working towards one's meaning_ .

All the qualities of life that were talked about build self confidence. I think self confidence is the number one thing missing from young people's lives. Without self confidence a person is easily offended and confused. Without belief in yourself a person doesn't even have a foundation.

Authenticity, purpose and freedom pretty much covers it for me, all three of those have eroded during my lifetime.

Hey Jesse. I truly believe the division you were talking about has been forced upon us as a generation. Gen X really didn't adopt the obvious biases, we know idiots come in every flavour. The ever widening chasm between the ultra-rich and the dirt poor and its political slant, that's definitely by design and its killing both the US and Australia.
I'm thinking it's harder now than in previous times for our younger generations to have pride or self worth because I truly believe that people have lost their sense of self. 26 genders and counting, the disaster we laughingly call an education system, the worsening political problem, Covid shutting down the world for 2 years, and the list goes on...war. We of Gen X, as much as we say we don't give a shit, are a proud and patriotic people. We may not always like those running the country, but we'd defend every square foot of it. A lot of us were military and we bled. I'm proud of our Gen. But our countries are falling apart, housing and food, basic necessities are being priced out of reach for the poor as the rich fatten their already gluttonous wallets. Starvation is not a good look, it doesn't build morale and it sure as hell doesn't make one love their country or life for that matter.
Cheers Brother.

Damn Jessie pretty dark but pretty true as well. Keep preaching brother.

worked for Newsday at 13. lasted till almost 14. became a muffler guy in 89 and did the grind till today where ive been able to buy my own shop and even though we barely break even...
i must say im satisfied but NOT content.
ive personally fixed over 60, 000 vehicles over my career and supervised many others. i LOVE the feeling i get when i can get folks on their way so they can keep getting on with life. i get a sense of achievement serving my community as the "mechanic" Weeble in town.

All the topics you you covered in this episode you hit the bullseye about all the shit that we are going through I talked about a lot of the stuff too over the years I'm just wondering when we're going to get our country back.

STABILITY and boundaries, as a whole, are seriously lacking.. I think I said it before that things were better in the Cold War era. This new era will take humanity no where good.

While some Boomers made a conscious decision to do without religion, they still benefitted from the knowledge of it, keeping "the good parts." Then, without passing anything down, they constantly complained that their kids weren't born with a full knowledge of Western values. This is worthy of its own mythological story, "The Origin of Sarcasm."

I used to be able to split the atom fart the Star Spangled Banner while doing a hand stand. Now I just use my willie as a pogo stick and that makes an interesting way of getting from point A to B.

Gen X's purpose? On deck to save the country from any wannabe Red Dawners or worse.

Interesting discussion, Im a boomer im guessing born in 1960 I was lucky enough to have 2 excellent careers, commercial diver and government contractor, at 63 I still support some ops as I had a specialized career. Honestly im sick of the MIC and traveling across continents unless im on a mil bird is a done deal for me. But my semi retired life is extremely satisfying I work on old trucks, tractors, welding/mechanical projects supporting folks in my rural community mostly by barter ill fix a dump truck for meat veggies or fresh goat or cow milk. I was lucky again that at 53 I went thru a brutal divorce lost everything and started again at zero. I have a gen X woman who is an asset for sure. Im blessed and hope to share love and light to all I meet. I really dig your content and discussions keep it up.

Yes, I’m good with horses (starting, groundwork and green riding) but it’s a real challenge to make money from it. So I’ve been in bigger hospitals healthcare since it pays better than working for a private office (receptionist - long story) currently working with paper and scanning in a basement but it pays the bills. Always dreamed of sorta living like grizzly Adams and the man from snowy river lol. Now it’s just back and forth from work - a big loop, me and I guess a lot of others.
