The 55, 56, & 57chevy trucks were awesome also, 60 they hit a ugly tree and it rubbed off, however by 65 they were looking good, and by 70 straight up beautiful, started down hill in 73, tripping in 82-87, but picked up again in 88' made a slam dunkin the early 90's with the Silverado SS454, that would been a awesome truck with 10:1 compression, aluminum heads and a port injection similar to the tuned port injection the 5.0/5.7 had in the 80's, only using larger shorter runners, maybe 3" shorter, with a large plenum. Maybe have stack injection, with a plenum above the throttle valve, running across the intake. With 68-70mm individual throttle valves, and a 4"inlet, roughly 2.25"/2.880" valves oval port aluminum heads, roller cam, all from the factory, then all it would need is a cam swap, and pull the heads and slightly port them, and cut them about . 050"and use the thinnest gasket! Possibly, get the compression up to 10.5:1-10.8:1, 11:1 if possible (or o-ring the head, and keep the 10:1, and add a pair of turbos for up to 20psi,
Or go to 12.5:1 and use water methanol injection, ) with the right cam, and 16-20 psi of cool boost, it should make 800 HP, and 900tq's at 5500 rpm, and near 1000hp at 6800 !😎! All with only a ring gap, and cam swap, the heads being an aluminum version of a stock 70-71 Vette head. only oval port, . 4bolt 454 block roller cam, like the 94-95 maybe 96 up came with, upgrade the valves to undercut swirl polished, and conical or beehive springs, and roller rockers, with ability to handle the roughly
.650"/.685" lift cam with Factor cast steel headers, 2.150" I.D. primaries and 3" v- band collector, maybe a low grade stainless steel casting, to reduce rust and corrosion, with the short tube headers, being thick wall enough to port them, extrusion hone, to get 2.250" and still have roughly .100" walls, and .400" flange, using normal 3/8"-9/16" bolts, and possibly flip them around and mount turbos to them . GM should have did something like this with the 8100, call it 8100 express, or 8100 extreme, or just the SS-8.1, or sell it in a package with only bowties, .no name no Silverado, nothing but solid colors, black, grey, blue, green, red, white, no chrome except the bowties, maybe have a bowtie with 8.1L H.O. in it, on each fender in front of the door, and the 454ss, have a 4 speed manual (, maybe add over drive 5speed ) or a 4l80, a th400 +OD. With 3.73 gears, with a 4.10 and 4.56 gears optional, with a special order 4.88, and use of a 14bolt 2500 diff with a locker, basically a drag package for 1/8 mile strip use, or off road, with a AWD/4x4 option, using a 3500-4500 front diff, with 2500 hubs only drilled for 6lugs instead of 8, with large brakes using disc and calipers equal to the c6 Vette, requiring 18" rims, and use 18" x 9.5" on all 4's with a 40/60 offset, for a factory rim, steel with a 5 star look in metallic black, or silver with center cap or a similar looking alloy rim this being --95 factory built, what they should had built! And what someone could do to modify it in the modern times,

jamest.
