Just a quick video showing how to clean out the thermostat on an outboard engine. This engine is a 50/35 Tohatsu Jet, but the procedure is pretty similar on most outboard engines.

Great! I’m going to check out an 8hp tohatsu from 2000 that apparently has low hours and sat most of its life. Going to give this a check to make sure it’s not seized up

Great info man. Liked and subbed. I have a mercury 175. it has two thermostats . will clogged thermostats prevent water from squirting out? The impeller should still be sucking in water correct? just wont be circulating through the block untill the stats open? I've got no water coming out. Any advice is greatly appreciated !

I have a 15 hp 2 stroke tohatsu with no thermostat in the holder, I cannot find a good source on how important it is to have it and which I should buy. Someone got any tips?

I have a Nissan ns8b and I can't determine where a thermostat might be.
