Proud owner of a silver 2016 EcoBoost Premium here. Bought the car from an Acura dealer for $20k w/ 29k miles back in April 2021 and I absolutely LOVE it. I just came back from a week-long 2, 000 mile road trip and I didn't have a single issue with it. I've taken it as far north as Maine, as far south as North Carolina, and as far west as Michigan. Just crossed over 62k miles on the odo coming back home. I did also purchase the Ford PremiumCare extended service plan for 6yrs/72k miles (little over $2k) because I knew I'd be driving this for a while.
The only issues I've had with it thus far:
- Cosmetics: the hood has had a small oxidization defect on the front lip since I bought it, and the rims had some scars also (totally fine because I've added some by accident too)
- It did crap out on me once right outside my office, ended up being vacuum relay sensor or something odd (warranty fix)
- Another weird sensor issue that didn't affect the drivability (again, warranty)
- The heated/vented seats gave out due to a common issue with a wiring pin frying (yet again, warranty)
- I did recently replace the crappy factory 2-piece lugnuts for the wheels because they finally swelled and were difficult to get off
It's had little electrical hiccups here and there like most cars, but in terms of the mechanics, it's been shockingly and pleasantly reliable. It's a super comfortable car to drive, very quick, very nimble, has a shockingly large trunk for all my stuff when I go away (I buy/sell/trade antiques and license plates when I go on road trips)... truly can't say enough great things about it! I have zero intentions of selling this car until my life situation changes.

I personally do not care what anyone says. Buy and build or drive what YOU like, It's the roots of the car scene. Have had a 2000 V6, 2004 GT and as of tomorrow will also own one of these guys with 63k on the clock. My other vehicle is a explorer and up until someone stole it back in October, a 2011 Fusion SEL (nothing special, but they grabbed it street side). I drive what I either like, or can afford. Enjoy it!

Owned a 2021 6 speed manual Mustang Ecoboost since new. I did 80K miles until 2023, mostly highway commuting miles, and occasional (great) cross-country trips. Best commuter and grand touring car I have owned: beautiful design, great on gas, quick and, if you modify it properly -mild tune and upgraded suspension-, as I did, you have a good handling car that will give you little mechanical problems and a lot of fun. Since I didn't need a commuting car anymore, I sold the Eco and bought a manual GT. Honestly, it has been a great joy to own a GT mustang under my current circumstances: equally beautiful, really fast at middle and high rpm and just a joy to drive - Do some suspension adjustments and you have a big, but really fast car if you, specially if you keep rpm at 5K or above. Which one I like it more? The GT, no doubt - for me that platform is perfect with 460 or more hp to be enjoyed at its fullest. However, if you need a sport car for a long daily commuting, the Eco would be my choice and you won't regret it. It's fun and reliable.

I just bought a 2017 ecoboost used. For my daughter. She's so happy with it and so am I 😊

I bought my ecoboost at 18 and I have to say as a 19 year old, I completely regret it and wish I would’ve saved more money and bought a gt now rather than get the eco then. But I will say, I got it already tuned and with a new exhaust, it keeps up with some V8s and most other cars. Also very good on gas, and has helped keep my insurance down more than a V8 would’ve. I appreciate my eco as the first car I bought, and it’s honestly a great car for me and my life, I just want the V8 because I want more. Next car will be a C7 ZO6 in 5 years tho

I have a, 17 triple yellow ecoboost. It came with 19" wheels, 6 speed manual, dual power seats, non premium interior. I bought it in 2018, with 3.000 miles on it. I put a Ford tune on it, Continental tires, rear subframe connectors, strut tower brace, lots of interior chrome. I like the quiet exhaust, I love the turbo, the mileage is great, on a flat road at a sedate 60mph, I can get 40 mpg. It's governed at 121 mph, but that's still "felony speeding". I've got 65, 000+ on it now, but bought a good warranty. I had the stock rims powder coated, the thing looks and is awesome. I've driven newer GT's, but have no interest in one. I drove a '24 EB and liked it, but didn't want the two digital lap top gage clusters. This is a great car, and as you said, you can't make the exhaust note sound good at all. I've heard some EB mustangs with "performance exhaust", they sound like sick chain saws.

I've had my 19 ecoboost premium for 3 years and it sits at 77k miles and I've not had a single issue. Granted I'm not overly hard on it either but still impressive.

After owning a Jeep, repair costs on the Mustang are pocket change 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣Seriously thinking of one of these. Vid was great, very informative 😎🤙

Hey man 10k in gas a yr vs 2k gas a year makes me go eco all day

I bought an US spec eco here in Italy, that's my dream car, but now that I have driven it for a while, looking back I would have bought a manual one and with premium package. Automatic is good for daily use but when I want to have fun I feel a bit restricted, and the base interiors are a bit sad, installing the sync 3 was the first thing I did, next will be premium HC leather seats.

im actually thinking about buying one. Next year im planning to buy a weekend car for a nice price.
So im deciding between 2015 v6 and the eco boost.
The insurance on the V8 would eat me alive 🥲😂
And about the hate on the car, mate we are happy if we get something in our country that is more then 2, 0l 4 cyl engine and not a hybrid 🥲

How long will it last if you drive slow?

What I dislike about the current ecoboost is that it doesnt even come with shifters. May as well be an average car

9 minute mark where you start saying the EB is just as fast as a GT is why people hate on Ecoboost owners .

I’ve been driving my 2018 eco boost since it came out, I love everything about it except how unsafe it feels when the roads are slick (when it’s about to rain or when it just finished raining) The front of the car is extremely long and the back is so light it just dances. It’s extremely scary and never accelerate on a turn unless you want to hydroplane.

I have a race red ecoboost convertible paid 20k low miles I love it.

I have a 90 foxbody 5.0 mildly built and I still bought an ecoboost for a daily driver mustang. By no means faster than my fox but still fun to drive.

I’m planning to go to this dealership in the next 2 weeks and see if I can get this 2018 ecoboost it has 55k miles and is selling for 16k

I disagree with the 1st, I'm building out a 2024 eco and with the active valve it actually sounds pretty good for a little 4 banger. Gonna throw a bypass valve adapter on there to get that turbo sound and I think it'll sound amazing.
