This Is the Most Expensive Sports Card Ever

A 110 year old baseball card just sold for $6.6 million, making it the most expensive sports card in history. It’s the fabled T206 Honus Wagner card, of which there are fewer than 5 dozen in the world. Honus Wagner was a legendary baseball star who played in the segregated, all-white majors -- a shortstop and later manager with the Pittsburgh Pirates. These days, Wagner is more famous for the baseball cards bearing his image.

Suprised they don't mention why it's so rare. Honus was against tobacco companies marketing to kids who ended up collecting these cards. He ordered them to stop producing them early on.

I love listening to old timey videos and radio shows. It just sounds so cool and somewhat nostalgic.

This card probably sold for 1 to 5 cents when first issued and was sold in a pack with other cards.

Damn this guy is pretty badass, he saw through society and tobacco companies lies and tried to help prevent children from smoking by refusing to keep printing cards by that company

Every few years the same card breaks its own record, has always been the Holy Grail

1:42 that looks like a original and it looks used, that was 1909 - 1911 so that card donated anonymously was probably a heirloom

That 10k in wages he made a year is equivalent to something like 130k nowadays which isn't even close to a weeks wages for alot of players.
