I went to Salvador in 2023. Stayed in Barra. One of the highlights was a walk through the Santo Antonio Alem do Carmo neighbourhood, which is next to the Pelourinho. We also spent a few days on the island of Morro de São Paulo, little bit tricky to find our way there but was well worth it. The church in the Pelourinho, theSao Fransisco Church is amazing - the amount of gold inside is a bit sickening. The tiles in the courtyard are fabulous.
