The 1992 Magitronic MM433 Ultimate MS-DOS 486 PC

For years, I've always wanted a proper 486-era MS-DOS PC. Built out of a base model Magitronic MM433 AT tower which was pretty basic, even for 1992 standards, now all souped up!

When I first got it, it only had a 5.25" 1.2MB disk drive, a combo serial & parallel port card, and a SCSI + floppy controller, 8MB of ram and a 33MHz Intel i486DX-33 with only 64Kb of external L2 SRAM cache. Putting this system took months of salvaging parts from other early-to-mid 90s PCs to get the parts I needed. This were the resulting specs after putting everything together:

133MHz AMD Am5x86-P75 with a voltage interposer

Fun to see old Magitronics -- I worked in Luiski International Chicago branch (that's maker/owner of Magitronic) -- I was the last person there (Chicago Branch) at the end. Sales and IT for Chicago Branch. It was so sad to see such great Company go through what it did - we had excellent customers (dell great customer Luiski as example) and in its price built good PC's (was the largest white box brand, and by a long ways and 2nd largest Technology Distribution Company in its era, 2nd at time only to Ingram Micro).

I like to use a RAM-Disc for XMS using himem.sys. We can copy DOS to the RAM-Disc and redirect the comspec variable to the new location.
