My maximum slowdown build I use for general missions or dread hunts is a blast, never have I wield so much power to turn a charging dreadnaught into a borderline stationary target for my teammates.

Thank you for making all these build guides. I struggle with making builds and knowing what overclocks are worth using, you really help out the entire DRG community. Rock and stone.

Couple of notes:
Your globs of goo are affected by map anomalies like low gravity, making the splash fly out further making it easier for enemies to not step through it.
Good Bomber synergizes very well with fire, just keep adding another line of goo to keep the fire going.

Recently, I've come up with a "Campfire" strategy for the Sludge Pump. This requires the Sludge Pump with the 3-2-1-1-1 loadout with the Disperser Compound Overclock... and the EPC with the 2-1-2-2-3 loadout and the Persistent Plasma Overclock. Here's what you do:
With the Plasma Burn mod on tier 5 for the EPC equipped, you can shoot the sludge on the ground and light it on fire for even more DoT on anything that crawls into it. It takes about 3-4 EPC shots to light it up at first; but if you fire another charged sludge shot into it, the fire from the previous sludge carries over to that. And if you really want the most DoT, throw on a charged EPC shot for the Persistent Plasma effect! This combination works very well on high hazards. The only hard thing is to position yourself so that everything crawls across your "campfire" to get to you.

You must be a mind reader because I was just wondering about sludge pump builds after the recent changes. Thanks for this!

Hey Ron!! I liked seeing this updated builds video since a few of the Sludge Pump's overclocks did get buffed, which is great to see. Especially Sludge Blast, that one I could never really use 😆 Now I have a reason to give it another try 😃 Volatile Impact Mixture was really strong already, now I almost wanna call it S-tier in a tier list because of how much damage it can do now 😆 Rock and Stone!

I just used this for the first time the other day and I have to say it seems a very good weapon. I still haven't unlocked all the tiers and have no overclocks for it yet. Many thanks Ron!

I appreciate this; especially with the new changes and wanting to change up my stale builds, this helped make some new ones.

Sludge blast is crazy, I wanted to try it in elimination on haz3 and I two shotted a bet-c with the blast

Edit: I also tried the AG mixture with the tier one velocity mod and it's hilarious, you can cross map acid spitters wit ease

This was great and I like that your builds seem to match a lot of the ones I use... My issue is mostly with secondary's. I hope, going forward that you just allude to which secondary (or even grenade) you like bringing with the builds to help give us a general sense of how you round out your builds.

I just did a sludge blast round on elimination and I found that I was running out of ammo a lot. The weapon is almost too good at killing everything so you want to use it all the time, I was struggling on a decent secondary build that is reliable enough to not need to use the pump all the time.

While it is my favorite gun in the whole game, it has a few issues that I despise.
1: goo bomber special. I just hate it. Specifically how the charge shot doesn’t act like a normal charge shot on impact.
2: puddles and dh have different damage and slow stats. In order to get the full advertised effect from either you have to use both.

Thank you for all the guides you make for Deep Rock! :]

The sludge pump was the one weapon I liked using before the update. Now it’s even better to use.

In my experience, CSP already has ammo issues, even with ammo mods. Then again I don’t use a charge shot build nor any overclock not named hydrogen ion.

Great guide. Some stuff I’ve thought about before - lots of stuff I haven’t. :-)

Cool, I can't really understand why I'd ever use sludge pump over Cryo or Crsper.

I’m enjoying the Sludge pump so much now, I hated it before

Wouldn’t atomizer nozzle be better cause you get more damage from direct and blast fragment on larger targets with charged shots since you are firing more?

I HIGHLY recommend using AG and Air Pressure together. I used it in Season 1 and it has only gotten better.

What you lose in "potential" damage from other mods and OCs is made up for with practically guaranteed damage. You are no longer useless in long range engagements and are in fact incredibly useful against mactera.

I would love to see you show it off in a video. Would be a great way to spread the word. I think most people who struggle to enjoy the Sludge Pump will find building it like this is quite enjoyable.
