(1153) Challenge: Rune's Norwegian Gotcha

Показать описание
In this video I take on a hand-built challenge lock designed to defeat picking attempts.

Whipped videos highlight custom made locks sent to the LockLab as a challenge. They contain innovative modifications, unique security designs, and careful craftsmanship. Challenge lock design is difficult, to say the least, but many LockSporters excel in lock design and hand craftsmanship. Because there is such innovation among LockSporters, many manufacturers pay attention to the WHIPPED videos and incorporate the security techniques into their own locks.

There is only ONE RULE: The key must work. You are free to cover up the key to prevent me from seeing it until after I successfully pick (or fail to pick) the lock. I will make THREE 10-minute attempts (down from six 10-minute attempts in April 2018). If I fail to open it in that time, it will become a WHIPPED video. If you are interested in sending a challenge lock, please use this address:

Bill, you are a ... god, so glad you didn't give up, and Rune outstanding demonstration of the power of good security pins! We are so fortunate this didn't end up lost and collecting dust ... at the post office.

We write the 7 with a line through it specifically for this type of mistake. I think it was first used in the military (like a line through the 0 incase if it was written fast and looked like a 6 or something).

If there had been threading and undercuts on that core and bible, it might have been almost unpickable with those pins.

AWESOME!!! Thanks for not giving up and sharing with us. I’ve always wondered, how do they cut those tiny pins? A tiny lathe?

This may be a very stupid question: but why aren't expensive cores be made more like this?
These pins don't look too hard to manufacture
