The atmosphere in Solan city became tense when some traders kept their shops open despite the Vyapar Mandal's call for a market shutdown. Angered by this, the protesters raised slogans saying, "If you want to live in Solan, you have to say Jai Shri Ram". The traders of Solan had called for a market shutdown from 9 am to 12 noon on Monday in protest against the lathicharge in the Sanjauli mosque dispute case. But some shopkeepers did not close their shops. This infuriated the traders.
