I think grad students are some of the best communicators. They have recent experience explaining to family members exactly why they're going so far into debt, at least in the US.

But she's DAMN GOOD at it. Knows the audience enough to trust us with exponentials and such.

Fantastic interview, Megan did a great job of outlining the history of Trappist-1 planet observations by JWST and some of the current problems/theories with current models of the system. Super stoked to hear more results about 1e in particular - the media is absolutely going to blow the findings out of proportion, but it certainly sounds like some fascinating results have been uncovered!

As others have mentioned, I hope Fraser gets the chance to interview Megan again in the near future on JWST's latest findings!

Most interviews only skim the surface or dumb down the info for the general public but I think the audience here, and certainly myself like to go a bit further on the details and this was great

Something I've noticed with younger scientists, they're much better in front of a camera than old geezers like me. I guess that's a benefit of growing up with the hegemony of the camera. I remember at university we'd occasionally get camera crews come out to interview professors, and most of them were like a plank of wood the minute the camera started rolling!
