I started my texturing journey in my last year of university (2020). At first I had wished the previous 2 years I hadn't focused so much on concept art... As the year progressed and I started learning the technical skills, I realize now how much faster I'm advancing thanks to my previous artistic knowledge from concept art.

Tô no primeiro ano pós formado e to no limbo do "e agora?". Tenho você como uma puta inspiração e ainda volto pras anotações que fiz daquela palestra pra me ajudar a traçar qual o próximo passo.
Muitíssimo obrigado por tudo e continue espalhando conhecimento por onde você passa, ele faz a diferença.

Hey Paul - I loved this video and I found many things I could relate to! Growing up, I always had a strong interest in the creation of films (art department, CG) but never thought I'd have the chance to do it as a career. I went into the Army straight out of high school for 4 years, not knowing where I was really going in life. Fast forward to 2020 and I'm now in my final year of University studying VFX and Animation and loving every minute of it! Keep up the awesome content and I look forward to all your future videos :D

Hi Paul, so glad i find you in early stage of your Channel. I still remember that Making of Wasp that i look at few years ago. For me it was so inspiring piece of art. Especially that in that moment, i was still working in movie industry (last 4 year was game industry for me, it destroy my mojo, but i am back in game cinematics now, and mari improve so much, i am glad i have again opportunity to learn it and work with it) and at that moment it was so hard to find good staff done in Mari. Even that so many people was use it, not to many put there work online, and tutorials for Mari was so little on internet. I cant wait to see your videos, you are inspiration to many people in industry and i don't doubt that you will give us good content on YouTube.

Hello Paul! I'm so thankful that I found about you listening to a random nerdcast. I'm starting right now learning about the basics, just started a course about after effects and others design programs, I'm trying to learn a little bit about everything and then specialize on vfx. I hope one day I can get so good like you. Thanks for the amazing tips on your channel.

I'm liking everything you're uploading, including those little touches of humor, make the video more interesting hahaha. I'm a junior modeler and I'm starting to like textures and shading more than modeling. All your videos are great, and notice that it's only 4, you'll see when you have more... Seriously, I'm learning a lot with you in every video.
Now when I go down the street, I stop to look at the objects and take pictures of them. (People look at me weird when I do, but I'd like to know I'm not the only one).
It would be cool if you made some video, in the future how to be motivated as an artist, I think it's a big question that many ask themselves. Thank you for sharing these fantastic videos! Cheers :)

I randomly came across this video while searching for some fire simulation tutorials. Thank you very much for the insights!

I grew up playing video games and always had an interest in drawing. I'm currently in a Fashion school, but CG is what I wanna do. I don't have any professional experience, and will probably be having very little time to learn it all in further studies just like you, but I must say- I'm very excited for the future! I post my CG work here instagram.com/cyberghost777
