📖 Charles Duhigg, the author of The Power of Habit says that 40% of the things we do on a daily basis are habitual and unconscious.
🚀 So if you do 40% of the things in your life with ease and on autopilot, bolt a new habit you want to do on something that's already established in your life.
The habit stacking formula is:
👉 After/Before [CURRENT HABIT], I will [NEW HABIT].
Examples include:
☕️ After I make coffee each morning, I will meditate for one minute.
👠 After I take off my work shoes, I will immediately change into my workout clothes.
🛌 Before I get into bed at night, I will say one thing I’m grateful for that happened today.
You can go wild with habit stacking! Having a habit 'bolt onto' another habit you already do makes it easy to remember and easier to be consistent.
💯 A habit doesn't necessarily take 28 days to form, according to Professor Huberman of the Huberman Lab podcast it can take over 250+ days in some cases.
