Enter to win a Lamborghini!

We pulled the transmission, torque tube, and header on my cheap manual repossessed Aston Martin V8 Vantage and found exactly why it won't run! It's parts we're destroyed and we're going to have to fix it, but the price for JUST the parts are extremely expensive!!!

What a beautiful "Hello" rendition by Rich. Brings a tear to my eye. And stomach acid to my throat.

It's simply mind boggling that this man refuses to get a car lift. I got my 4 post lift 12 years ago and it was $2k. Not the commercial quality but still works today with no issues. Even if the price is doubled now, it'd be worth every penny.

Surprising to see a single mass flywheel, thousands saved right there

Is there a logical reason why you don't own a lift?

Sam, please invest in a shop lift for the barn. It's much safer than this method.

Watched a video of professional bowlers in a car talking shop, driving down the road texting, without seat belts. You guys ought to know better to be working under a vehicle without proper support.

Do some research for aftermarket performance clutch parts and a throw out bearing.
Some quick check on a few forums revealed the factory clutch assemblies in the pre '09 Aston Martins seems to be their weakness, so if it was me I wouldn't replace it with a factory setup.

call the machine shop and retro fit something normal. your just going to burn it up again any way.

I just love that we get to watch someone work on an Aston Martin who cares about spending $60 on transmission fluid.

When working under a car, I do not rely solely upon the jack stands because pulling on something can rock the car off the stands. I always like to slide one extra bulky thing under the car as an insurance policy.

Consider a rear main while you have the trans out sir!! While you have the trans out run the trans through all of its gears manually and make sure that the trans is capable of transmitting power. Also, adjust your outside mirrors so that your air conditioning will calibrate. Ok...that last was a bit of bullshit. Sorry I am just in that kind of mood after watching you two yahoo's torturing yourselves. Too bad you don't live anywhere near Jay, Oklahoma. I would happily invite you to use my hoist. That, plus a garage full of tools I have accumulated over 60 years of automotive mechanics. Things like a tranny jack, welding equipment, air compressor, 30' X 70' shop. A nice little fishing boat. I live 20 min from Grand Lake o' the Cherokees. I am a full service garage who's only customer is me.

the throw out bearing crosses with a ford part number but cant find the info as to what it fits. I would try to look at the same year mustang clutch. part numbers may very but look at the specs. good luck

Samcrac why the hell don't you buy an actual car hoist so that you can stand up under the car and work like a pro. You have no idea how much extra work you do because you are laying on your back dribbling dirt into your eyes. I have had my own hoist for a decade for working on my own four cars. Give yourself ten more years and you will quit killing yourself on your back. A pro hoist should be no more than $3-5 K depending on how much weight you want to pick up. Get smart bro!!

Sam,
IT'S TIME TO BUY A BLOODY VEHICLE LIFT!

Stop being such a cheapskate it really does not make your videos any more interesting.

Just do it, please.

Of all the work you and your friends do on auction finds, have you considered installing a lift? So you don’t have to crawl on the ground making it hard to do work under the car.
