This exquisite brooch epitomizes the exceptional artistry of Fabergé, featuring two stunning Siberian cabochon amethysts weighing 26.85 and 29.36 carats. These vibrant gemstones are complemented by sparkling old cut diamonds totaling 0.85 carat and set in 14K rose gold. Crafted by August Frederik Hollming, one of Fabergé's most renowned master goldsmiths, this work is a testament to the unparalleled opulence and precision of the St. Petersburg workshop. The brooch is housed in its original box—a remarkable rarity for Fabergé works—which bears the signature of Johan Victor Aarne, a celebrated Finnish jeweler and collaborator with the House of Fabergé.

I’ve only ever seen that color one other time. I was at an international jewelry show and spotted a Victorian intaglio amethyst bracelet set in yellow gold. I asked to see it, looked at it for 2-3 minutes, set it down and moved on. 20 minutes later I stopped myself and was like, what are you doing, you’ll never see that quality ever again. I rushed back to get it and swallowed my heart when I was told an Italian jeweler standing behind me had bought it instantly the second I let go of it! That was 26 years ago. To this day, I think about my mistake often and have been searching (so far in vain), for that bracelet everywhere I go ever since, it’s doubtful I will ever find it, despite the fact I see hundreds of pieces of jewelry every single day!!

For my 16th birthday my Grandmother sent me a
heart shaped Siberian Amethyst set in yellow gold. I still treasure it today.

Good god, this brooch is not only unique, it's one of the most beautiful jewels I have ever seen.
Excuse my exclamation, but that is how this piece of Fabergé effected me. As a man, I would wear this Artwork on a Tuxedo lapel.

Siberian amethyst used to be the most popular gem for wedding rings in (and around) Russia, my grandma had a BIG purple wedding ring.
