Utah drivers admit to speeding over 100 mph more than any other drivers, according to a recent national survey, a statistic that is not surprising to Utah Highway Patrol.

It's d*** near out of control on the 15 at times. I'm so sick of these aggressive drivers.

Utah should do what most states does and have a criminal speeding limit. 31 over and you get a pair of bracelets.

Pro tip: do not exceed the highway speed limit by more than 6 mph and you will never be pulled over.

When I lived in Germany, 100+ mph was normal on the Autobahns (when traffic congestion levels permitted). Even back then, when congestion levels increased, the Unlimited could be reduced to 110, 100, 80 or even 60 KPH for safety. Anymore, it is very rare to have the Unlimited signage displayed. Utah isn't Germany. The roads aren't designed for it; the cars aren't maintained for it; the drivers are certainly not trained for driving those speeds or, driving safely at lower speeds with other driving at the higher speeds and NEVER WILL BE.

Utah needs a criminal speed law like they have in AZ (and other states probably, I just know AZ has one).
85 mph = Criminal Speed
20 mph over the posted limit = Criminal Speed
15 over in a school zone = Criminal Speed

I'm watching for myself to go speeding by. Not going 100 but sometimes the traffic flow sets at 80+

My money is on the Dodge Chargers and Challenger's -- the Arkansas SP release just about weekly videos featuring them chasing the aforementioned Dodge cars.

You can thank all the californians that have moved in. They should make 100mph a felony.

17 a day are caught.... that's insane.

Fines and bs charges won't do it. Jail time and confiscation of their car, might. Better education when learning how to drive. But sadly non of these will stop it from happening. Everyone is in a rush to get somewhere, they don't care about anyone else except themselves.

Everyday I have to remind my friend to not speed or race someone just because you perceive the other driver wants to race you.

Utah drivers are universally hated every state I have been in.

Maybe look at what the Arkansas state troopers do.

Maybe this means speed limit needs to be raised

When you see an empty road some times you just need to turn up that song and let the clutch out...

So regressive taxation to milk the working class. Get back to me when I see UHP pulling over more Porsches in Park City, than Honda Civics in Midvale.

It’s because more often than not the state police are…. Well who knows? State police are rarely actually patrolling. And that’s every state.

Fines and "talking sessions" about being good drivers will not help these arrogant assholes. Jail time needs to happen. Time to not have a job, time to not drive a car, time to not go to their supportive cult church (if applicable), time to inconvenience their families, time to see all the other losers in there, and a real public record of their actions. Attempted murder with a deadly weapon: make it real. It is not a "right" to drive - it is a licensed, organized privilege.
