Alright, I wanna say this first. I see people are still saying, let's get back to survival and also take issue with the drop ship and any type of futuristic vibes. Well, if you would actually read the comic and the movie script that came with supporter pack two, you'd already know Scum's setting is on track. Oh, and it even has the drop ship in it. Because guess what. That's how you get to the island. On that drop ship. Scum is set in the future. You just so happen to be on an island with old stuff on it. Please, please, please read the comic and the script. I believe the devs said there will be updates before 1.0 releases, so we do have some fixes and other things to look forward to eventually. If it takes time for them to release a quality game, I don't see the problem with that.

absolutely true about the puppets...they can add all kind of new stuff, but while the puppet spawning system continues, realism and fun won´t be there...

I saw their video about quests the other day—they don’t have them finished yet, but at least they’re adding content to the game. Looking forward to having some new stuff to interact with. I want the community to grow—a big draw of games like these is the social interaction (for me, not everyone, but I like having a teammate or a clan to compare notes with), and we could use a boost for our community.

I thought the premise of the game was that the convicts dropped on the island were death penalty convicts there as televised reality show entertainment. Their lives forfeit for entertainment.
The island seeded with ridiculously dangers weapons and reactivated semi dead puppets.
Wasn't the original goal not just to stay alive, but to find a way to disable those things in their heads and escape.
Has that concept totally gone by the wayside?

I agree with you about the furniture, The best thing they could do is like in project zomboid, we can dismantle things we see and rebuild them in our home, all the furniture visible in the game, that would be so cool !

Man I want deep snow that comes up to your knees that slows you down and vehicles, blizzards, ice fishing, snowmobile, dog companion, maybe even a dog sled to with small storage

I hope they allow more clipping with the new build pieces as well.
So we can build better cave bases and bases that utilise existing structures

Sorry, but all that comes to my mind is a genuine LOL. Since game EA they don't even came close to a reasonable pathfinding for the puppets, but now of a sudden they want to implement Space-ship soldiers ?
Let alone that they completely went of the tracks in regards of survival. Metabolism still not done, fishing still full of bugs,
using a boat is a pain, the rediculous mini-games with the shark and the razors in bunkers are a joke.
Puppet system you get it...a joke.
And furthermore, who asked for radiation ? Why do we need 1 million different weapons and ammo types ? And not to mention melee, lol, really i can't make this up.
Why can't we select the arrow type for the bow we want to use ? And btw, why didn't they allow us to create poisonous arrows. Why didn't they nerf the body loot system when you get killed ? People are looting for plenty of hours just to be shot by some bush-hiding-lame-sniper to lose all their progress through one damn bullet ?
I was running a hardcore survival server, lots of puppets, less loot with a very long respawn timer for loot.
I was really happy when they announced the puppets will be capable of going through windows and doors (wich allready should have been implemented before years). But then they also added the new spawn system for the puppets too. This was the last straw for me and i was closing my server. Here is what i wrote on my discord for the players why i was taking the server down.
" The Scum server will be shut down on December 27th, 2023. The reason for this is that Scum is increasingly evolving from survival to a standard looter shooter. The death blow was the decision to spawn hordes now. Who cares about more and more different weapons, skins or other bullshit.
Obviously the developers are not able or willing to develop the PvE elements.
It is always a bad sign when developers focus on artwork, new locations or the like.
This is 99% certain that there is a lack of software developers (coders) in the development team and/or the vision of what the game should be has been lost."

Puppets needs comeback… in encounter system they are random static elements that can and will spawn 10 m from you but encounters plus further spawning plus sleepers can upgrade that to immersion and dynamic map events not static random sh*t… this right now is real gamebreaker and if they want they can contact me because i have ideas how to combine precious system with new one that both systems make it more immersive. I am quiting scum once again just because that random static bs is just bs and you will die because suicide puppet will spawn on you and explode, just because system works like this right now. Gamepires if you want scum to live just get it right…

i hope there's fun single player quests too like hunting and fishing quests, where you have to catch a certain fish that has to be a certain size, deer, bear, etc. puppet killing missions, looks like they have item searches underway... basically i hope they cater to the PVE/RP single player experience as well, as that's also a MASSIVELY HUGE player base

Let's return to survival, avoiding all this "spaceman" branch. If you want it, fine..Maybe, DLC type choices such as pure survival, spaceman bs, more complicated bunkers with mechs, variant choice in hordes? Earlier versions were actually more fun, more immersive, more interesting.

We have been hearing that they are fixing the puppets since they released a broken encounter system. Devs are too hardheaded to roll back to a working system until the new system works properly. We, the players, suffer for it, and the devs only blow smoke up our rears with no seen action. The game started to go downhill after the Jagex acquisition. I was hoping Jagex was going to help the game, but that doesn't seem to be the case. If the devs continue not to listen to the player base, they will keep losing players and receiving bad steam reviews.

hi thank you for teaching us one thing i notice we have many military in game but you can t find a truck a military car only normal car and we have no way to cure infection only garlic and pill if we only had a plant my main cause of death is infection thank you for helping the new players

They really need to take advantage of what the encounter system can actually be used for, and the quest system needs to work with that. You should be able to have a quest to secure supplies from a POI, and if you have that quest active it should enable certain kinds of encounters in that area, with variations to keep it fresh and not super predictable. Outposts should be hubs for questing and the like, but not be an easy mode for getting all your gear. You should be able to get some basic foodstuff, some basic clothes, and some low caliber weapons, better weapons and tactical gear should only be found in world and not at a trader. Though they should have a 'trade' table at the outpost where players can go to make a secured trade between players, that could also leverage cash in bank as part of the transaction etc. I also think we need to be able to craft the modular addons to vehicles. And for the love og all that is holy one of those addons needs to be an outboard motor for the raft, the wind is so unreliable lol
