Volkswagen has been showing off its most outrageous model - a unique version the Golf which cost a staggering £3.4 MILLION. The Volkswagen Golf Design Vision GTI is a one-of-a-kind superhatch fitted with a 3-litre engine boasting 500bhp. It has more than twice the power of a standard Golf GTI and is capable of 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 186mph. This puts the car on par with some of the world's fastest supercar and its jaw-dropping design also makes it one of the maddest-looking motors.

For 3.4 mill I would rather a lambo avantador, 8 bedroom house brand spanker and 3 holiday houses in exotic locations. This is a joke????

It's not a million dollars because of what it has in it, it's a million dollar because it's a one of a kind, a concept car nobody else can have this car except one person.

I feel as though a few people aren't getting the point/s
1. This is the only one of these cars on the planet, it's unique. The price is so high because they need to cover the cost of the of that one car.
2. To everyone saying that VW is shit : VW is almost like the affordable version of Audi. It's like Lexus and Toyota. As the VW group owns/shares most of Lamborghini, Porsche and Bentley (there are others but that's not the point), why wouldn't they continue providing a car for the not-so-wealthy? This way they've covered all markets. If you want German quality and performance, but don't have a big budget, VW is really your best option, and if you get golf R or GTI, you're really just buying an A3 or S3 but without paying so much. If VW wanted to make a production supercar, they would. But it makes no sense. Why make a VW supercar with a supercar price tag, when people would go for the R8, Lambo, Porsche etc. anyway? Volkswagen KNOWS that they aren't seen as a "classy" or "expensive" brand, they don't need to be.

the canal in the sides of the car keeps it in the ground when its running in high speed, aerodynamics made it a nice design too, just awesome

3.4 million is the value of the car. VW isnt going to put this into mass production and mail them to dealers across the world with a 3.4 million price tag.  Car companies typically have teams of designers and engineers, every once in a while they are told to design concepts such as these.

Every vision concept or any concept
Will cost a fortune and it's not your ordinary VW golf or any car you see on the road everyday
They're one of a kind and they're value only rises and unique

So basicly it has a bodykit, and 200 horsepower more than a normal GTI, which cost about 50, 000 pounds(not even in dreams) and they sell the car 3, 4 million?
Who the fuck is going to buy it

are you guys commenting mentally challenged? first read the description and then consider writing your "sensible working-joe witticisms". it's a one-of-a kind working concept car. do you know what concept means? can your mind understand what "design vision" stands for? don't be so daft, open your 1.6 TDi narrowsighted eyes and understand that developing a concept car costs a LOT and the car will never pay for itself because it's not going into production,  so some clickbait genius estimated it for 3.4M. a concept car suggest a new design path for the next development in the maker's design. so no, you don't have to wrinkle your brow under the idea of VW going to compete with maybach or bugatti's prices with a golf.

on a related note, i like the design elements, especially the widened front and grinning eyes. reminds me of the scirocco mk3, which was, and still is, ahead of its time, VW design-wise

with half a million or less  you can tune a normal golf GTI 2013 and  make it go that fast, and make a custom widebody designed for it, and have a unique golf.
dont get me wrong, I love the car is like a dream hatch since I am a hatch fan, but not 3.4 for it.

I just wish I knew which Volkswagen chamber this beast is hidden in so that I could go and have a look for myself. I would pay a bunch for a test-drive in that thing

Probably referencing how much its cost as a prototype not how much it will cost from dealer .

You: "Dude, look at my new car, it's AWESOME isn't it?
Your friends: "It's pretty cool I guess, but it's just a VW Golf... so, why are you so exited?
You: "What? No, it's not just a VW Golf! It's a prototype Ultra-Golf I guess you could say."
Your friends: "Nah, you bought a golf. There isn't that many differences."
You: "Oh come on. I spend 3.4 million on this car."
Your friends: "Bwahahahahaha YOU IDIOT! You cannot be serious. Ahahahahaha!"
And that is why I would never buy this car.
