Founded in 1929 in midtown Manhattan, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) is a preeminent institution dedicated to modern and contemporary art.
MoMA underwent a significant renovation in 2004 led by architect Yoshio Taniguchi for its 75th anniversary, ensuring the ideal space for art appreciation.

One of the exhibitions at MoMA featured 97-year-old American artist Alex Katz. His "Seasons" series captures the changing of the seasons, from the vivid colors of spring, summer, and fall to the stark tones of winter. Many of these pieces were inspired by photographs he took on his iPhone during morning walks downtown and were painted with bold, sweeping brush strokes.

Another exhibition I encountered was Isaac Julien’s "Lessons of the Hour," a striking video installation that explores the life and legacy of Frederick Douglass, the visionary African American abolitionist, statesman, and former enslaved individual. Presented across ten screens of varying sizes, this British artist's installation blends image, text, and sound through his innovative "horizontal montage" technique, creating a rich, nonlinear narrative.
