I love how Bethesda ended this trailer just like the very first Skyrim trailer. It shows the dragon's soul being absorbed, but instead of the main character, it's Miraak. Pure genius.

Miraak seeks to return by inspiring fear in mankind and corrupting their minds with insanity, forcing them to form cults worshiping him. He is trapped in another realm, but seeks to return and rise again. He has the body of a man, the face of an octopus, and the soul of a dragon.

Miraak = Cthulhu.

If you listen closely, the specific lyrics they chose to take from the original game theme, which originally referred to you and Alduin, could be interpreted to pertain to Miraak as well.
(Translated from Dovahzul/Dragon language): "Who was kin to both wyrm, and the races of man, with a power to rival the sun..." (during intro)
"But a day, will arise, when the dark dragon's lies, will be silenced forever, and then..." (during big dramatic action portion of the trailer)
"Hearken now, sons of snow, to an age long ago, and the tale boldly told of the one!" (during the title reveal after we see Miraak)


So all in all, we have a description of a powerful Dragonborn, but not a good one, a dark dragon who lies (could be referring to how he controls his unwilling worshippers), and at the end of the trailer they talk of an age long ago and the tale of "the one" (the first Dragonborn).

It's the little, subtle details. Bethesda sure knows how to put those in.

It's obvious, but I love how every trailer ends with a pan up to a dragonborn. The original is The Dragonborn we play as. Dawnguard, the eyes of our dragonborn are blood red, shrouded in darkness. In Dragonborn you are expecting to see the player again. Instead, you see Miraak, absorbing a dragon soul. Expectations subverted, shivers activated, cheers cried. The perfect way to end the trailer.

You got to admit...the idea of surprising the players (and the main hero we think we are roleplaying) with the notion that"YOU ARE NOT SPECIAL...NOT AT ALL." was quite brilliant, and it adds way much depth to this game...

I was down on my luck. I went through a divorce, I went to my best friends funeral whom I have known for 30 years, and I lost my job and was starting another job. A friend of mine suggested Skyrim for my xbox 360. I bought the game a week after it came out. Let's just say Skyrim saved me. My mind was so overwhelmed with grief. Going on adventures and exploring dungeons, fighting different creatures. This game kept my mind occupied. Skyrim will always have a special place in my heart. I'm looking forward to elder scrolls 6 .Thanks for reading and l lift this mug of mead in honor of you fellow gamer.🏹🛡⚔🍻

It sure beats the main quest.. The battle with alduin was basically the same as fighting any other dragon but with more hp/damage and meteors doing showering on me... Wish the alduin boss fight had more to it

This DLC was AWESOME! I loved every part of it. Well maybe not that fact you can't really control the dragon you are riding, would be super cool to travel all Skyrim like on a horse. But I loved the the unique new area Solsthaim and everything in it :). I wish Heartfire and Dawnguard would have new areas as well..

I always loved that last shot of all the Dragon corpses leading up to Miraak just standing there glowing with the power of their souls absorbed into him.

Definitive my favorite DLC for ES V. If you played the Bloodmoon Addon for Morrowind you even recognize some old places from it. Oh, the Nostalgia ...
