visited the Bible museum in DC this summer and it was epic. Missed this site but your tour is easier on my knees anyway... thanks for sharing Sal

I love that necklace made with Pre-1933 gold. Empress Irene was the first woman to rule over the Roman/Byzantine Empire. Byzantine coins are quite affordable despite their age. I love the history of the US Territorial gold pieces. The fifty dollar gold coin is known as a “slug.”

Those are the best gold coins we have ever made. Great looking designs that captured the effort of the artistry and sculpting that the classics presented . Nice banknotes.

First! I’m just picturing you grabbing hold of those coins on the wall, trying to pry them off, and getting carried out by security, all the while, Sal is yelling “I slurp! I slurp! I slurp!” People just hearing his yelling echoing through the halls....

DANG!!! That a GREAT display - I LOVE that hexagonal gold coin at 1:40 .... & that chain at 6:50 looks like something gangster rappers wear in South Central.... what a spectacular show

Twenty-ninth. Hi Sal. I liked the animation of Liberty at the beginning of the video. I can see your face reflected in the Proof 1865 Twenty Dollar Gold piece. Ugly mug. And when you had the camera pointed down while walking, you were walking around like Charlie Chapman. Also, you said the St Gauden's High-Relief was a $10 coin. HAHA. I had to watch the video a second time in 1080p. I must say, I was Salivating through the entire video. Thanks, Sal. *TYU* *:-)* #SOAMG

I was able to watch the live stream LIVE for once 😆 as you were reading the comments from this video I had to check it out. I can easily hear the passion in your voice Sal! Not a coin collector myself, don't think I ever will be, never know though, but I still can respect our history threw coinage. Also the st gaudens high reliefs were very nice!

Hey Sal. There are so many coins that you can spend entire day to learn them. I found couples of my favorite coins that I will never see myself having them.
1. The Japanese Meiji gold piece. I am having hard time to identify it in a short glimpse. Despite using the the highest resolution with ultra slow speed, it is still challenging to determine its identity in the light glare condition. I am certain that it is a Meiji year 10(1877) gold piece. The coin appears to be 20 yen in GEM condition. Japan only minted 29 of the 20 yen coins for Meiji year 10 and it is one of the key date and rare coins in GEM condition. On the side note, it is funny to listen your commentary in extreme slow motion. You should check it out. lol....
2. The Indian $10 gold piece is another of my favorites. I just like their design so much. Considering it is eye candy. If you would like to have one, the common date coins in Mint State are affordable.
3. The 1933 St Gauden certainly is highly desirable for the series. Unfortunately it is illegal to own one since it was not officially released by US Gov.
4. The 1907 High Relief St Gauden w/wo wire rim. It is also very desirable coin. We are talking about 5 figures for a low grade coin without Wire Rim. The higher grade coin will be a lot more expensive.
5. There are so many European coins that I really enjoy seeing them. I do have some of the common date and lower grade coins. It is fun to collect them.
Glad you to see you to make it there and enjoy all those historical pieces. Thanks for being a tour guide and showing all fantastic coins in the museum.

Checking out the Museum competition. Sal, did you get through these displays without drooling, convulsions, or huge coffee consumption.

Thanks for the great field trip, Sal- Fabulous coins! I got a glimpse of my favorite, the gold pattern Una and the Lion. Also a copper or bronze Libertas Americana medal. I have a restrike in .925 silver minted by Monnaie de Paris.
You’re right about the exhibit being too much to absorb on a quick walk-through!

Thanks for the great tour! It’s cool seeing all of these wonderful coins. I never really thought much about visiting Washington but THIS is now a good reason to visit.
