Piracy wouldn’t be such a massive problem if cable companies and rights holders didn’t charge so much for content and lock down shows exclusively to one platform.

I mean, at least he was honest, that's hard to find nowadays. He accepted responsibility, he self snitched a lot. I think he just thought this wasn't that big of a deal and didn't want to bullshit. Respect for that, even people like him deserve respect - accepting and admitting what you did wrong and face the consequences.

Honestly respect his attitude. Though he knew it was shady he thought it was legal. "ignorance is not an excuse, take responsibility" is something that I can get behind, even if I don't agree with the "shady but legal" mentality.

I’ve never heard of OMI until today, but he seems like a kind and charismatic guy. There are worse crimes. I hope he’ll be out of prison to see his kids soon.

It’s so disappointing that people usually get more time in prison when it comes to fraud etc, than they do for sa, abuse and some times killing people.

I don’t think he’s a bad dude. He didn’t hurt anyone. I’m glad the judge gave him another chance.

I gotta admit...this mans HUSTLE WAS on a whole other Level..holy fuck. Construction company, Restruants, Nightclubs, Genius cable company. The man was literally just hustler too the bone.

Man, you know what? It takes some serious character to not try to weasel your way out of the situation he got into. He saw his dues and said "ignorance is not an excuse." It sounded like he genuinely thought he found a loophole. I hope he comes out of this a better man

What sucks about this dude, is that he's so relatable; he was that smart rich kid at school that wanted EVERYONE else to have what he had but inexpensively. What a dude, honestly. He's got a space back on YT when he's out. I hope he comes back.

If he is the man he portrays himself to be, I can almost guarantee that he will be released from prison early on good behavior.

Honestly I respect it. Dude is a businessman and a hustler

He doesn't need to come out changed or a better person. He's already a proper good, nice guy. Bless him.

Respect to bro though, he genuinely seems like a family oriented man and was even grateful to get 5 years so he could still be in his kids life. Yes he was ignorant and should've realized there's no such thing thing as quick money, but he was kinda doing the public a favor cuz noone tryna pay all that for just cabel anymore and he did put a lot of hard work to even manage to pull that off so hats off to him.

this case is a great example of how the "justice system" works in this country. if you take from the rich you go to jail. if the rich commit actions that hurt poor people (or worse get them killed) they will get off with a small fine if even that in some cases.

Dude earned my respect for sure man. No hate on this dude at all. Hope he does great and comes out on top!

Man took responsibility the whole time and didn't shit talk the judge or the laws. He's willing to pay what he owes, and do the time. Gotta respect that.

1. He showed waaaayyyy too much wealth (got a lot of attention) 2. He showed how easy it was to distribute a signal from a server and make cable way cheaper (inspires people to do the same) 3. He exposed the greed of the cable companies (there pricing model is inflated and doesn't need to be that high at all. Thanks for sharing.

He seems so genuine, it was really nice to see how happy he was with the judge only giving him 5 years and how much appreciation he gave to that when I don’t think I would’ve blamed him if his reaction was just relief for the situation being over. One of the most accountable and appreciative people I’ve seen online in a long time

He has 5 years to learn and use his intellect and all other talents -to get it all back. Just do it, legally and he’ll be good. You can’t stop a person that’s already “made it” on their own.
You can tell he’s genuine, owned up to his wrong doings, etc etc.
He’ll be alright in the long run

Bro was like the Robin Hood of TV piracy. Seems like a pretty self-aware and honest guy, and like everyone else is saying: the only ones getting hurt were companies like Comcast, who already is an infamously garbage shit-tier company.
