GoldenEye 007 - Xbox One - Mission 1 Gameplay Dam on 00 Agent & impressions (Rare Replay N64) [4K]

After over 20 years the iconic James Bond GoldenEye 007 is getting a new release on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch. This is a HD port of the original RARE Nintendo 64 version and not the upgraded and unreleased Xbox 360 version, which did leak. However, it appear Microsoft and Nintendo couldn't agree on a deal to release the upgraded version. We can only hope that it gets released at a later date.

The Xbox version is available to uses who own a digital release of Rare Replay or who have Game Pass. Sadly if you own a retail version, you can't download it, which is rather disappointing and will have to buy one of the latter at present, unless there is a patch update in the future for the game.

GoldenEye really is a timeless classic and plays superbly in this new version. The game now supports dual analogue controls and plays quite a bit smoother compared to the N64. It's not quite perfect Seres X & Switch owner have reported frame dips. The cheat codes have also been removed in the Xbox version so it's unclear if Line mode / Wire Frame mode can still be accessed. The control changes also mean that the ability to lean doesn't work at present.

I randomly stumbled across this on my Xbox one earlier, complete nostalgia from when I was around a 5 year old kid playing and completing the game with my dad. One of my all time favourites, getting the big heads was always a fun moment
