I'm a 72 year old senior, and just this year, I dropped my 6 iron and went to another hybrid.

First club I ever had was a 3 iron. Love my long irons, still play a 2 iron.

I'm in the process of swapping out my long irons for hybrids, Mark.
Just in the process of re-shafting a set of 14°, 16°, 19°, 22°, 25° & 28° hybrids.
I still really like hitting the long irons 1 through 5, but hybrids are so much easier to hit consistently well🏌‍♂️⛳️👍

Golf Mfg: Hey, we jacked the lofts so you can now hit a 7i 190yds!
Me: Nice, but now my 3i is unhittable.
Golf Mfg: You need these $200 hybrids.
Me: You also turned my Pitching Wedge into an 8i!
Golf Mfg: Oh, here, you need these $140 wedges.

I'm a younger guy and I carry a 4 iron, a 21 degree hybrid, and a 5 wood. They go 200, 220 and 240 respectively but more than that it gives me more choices from different lies and into different winds. Also depends on how narrow a shot is or how much I need to shape it. I don't even bother with a 2/3 iron a 3 wood or whatever else. Not worth it for how much harder they are to hit well (for me). This would allow me to still have 3 wedges even if I only actually play 2 and just carry 13 clubs

Hybrids are fun until they go left and you lose a prov1.
