Personally, I loved K-On. Season 1 is decent enough for what it is, but for me the show really became something special with season 2, the characters are really endearing and the movie was the perfect way to end the series. In order to enjoy the show, I guess you gotta embrace the fluffy fluffy comfy vibe (lol)? Even I don't know what that means specifically, but it sort of happens automatically if you get into the flow of the series and its silly shenanigans xD

That Megalo box is so nice! I especially love the highlight orange color. I couldn't get into the show, but it did have a super cool art style, I may have to try to revisit this in the future, especially since it got another season.

OMG, Hunter x Hunter 2011 is actually my favorite anime of all time! I adore the manga as well. The anime's pacing is incredibly on point and it's a super satisfying watch, it's very addicting!

With the recent announcement that Togashi was working on the manga again, I decided it was finally time to rewatch the show and I finished my rewatch in July this year. It was such a wonderful experience and I'm sure you're gonna love the variety in arcs, characters and powers and the great news is that the anime has the perfect ending point for the story.

I agree with what you said, Togashi is really good at crafting characters and their interactions, I also rewatched Yu Yu Hakusho somewhat recently and I kind of want to rewatch it again already since it's such an enjoyable show and it holds up so well!

And I also full on agree that mangaka need to watch out for their own health, since the deadlines for manga magazines are super intense (it doesn't matter if it's weekly, monthly or bi-weekly, all of them are insanely hardcore). Best wishes to Togashi and I'll definitely pick up the newest manga volume since he mentioned he's working on the details for it.

The box, packaging and the disc art is super nice! What a nice HxH set! I guess the only thing that's left over are the 2 movies, which I still haven't watched so I'm not sure how those are.

What coincidence I just finished Megalo Box 2: Nomad. The first season was really good. The orange box set looks amazing! I like Gundam Seed always was a big Athrun fan. Still debating if I should pick up the Blu-rays, but I'm just not into the new dub. Oh that Hunter x Hunter box set is so awesome! Always loved the anime. Really awesome haul Val!

I absolutely 100% don’t jive with Dragon Ball Z’a tone but I enjoyed the slightly more lighthearted tone of the original Dragon Ball… I know I’m very likely alone on that, or if not then at least there are very few people who are like me. But me and DBZ have… a more complex history that involves the CCG and 9/11, but I won’t get into that here.

I have all the “part” releases of Sailor Moon I need to potentially get the complete season sets because of the significant shelf space savings, especially since I just moved and have a LOT less shelf space than I did. Plus that visual upgrade IS pretty solidly noticeable in screenshots.

I love the old Gundam Seed dub, and I'm very attached to it. The new dub didn't impress me, for what I've seen. But let me know your thoughts on it!
I need to watch Sailor Moon. Maybe I'll get that set one of these days.

I really hope the remake can somehow make me appreciate Gundam Seed the second time around. I just completely bounced off Kira Yamato as the lead, just couldn't stand him. Though it was my first experience of Gundam and it's tropes like the teen being brought into a war they often don't understand or at least don't want to fight. But Kira still feels like the worst case of a character screaming morals against war while he simultaneously slaughters everyone on the battlefield.

It's great that Sailor Moon is getting something like a proper release. Those original Blu Rays were truly truly awful and while the Japan upscale is an improvement it's a shame that Toei continues to upscale all their classic shows, it is so shortsighted to me. Film Negatives won't last forever and yet the technology of the present and into the future will only continue to demand higher resolution video. Doing this work now to digitize these classic Anime and presenting them at their best for future generations to enjoy and for Toei to profit from for decades to come seems a no brainer to me. Sailor Moon, Saint Seiya, Dragon Ball TV Series, Galaxy Express 999 etc all deserved alot better imo. Still it is great that Sailor Moon is now getting something like a normal release.

I can understand why you and anyone else could struggle with K-On. I have seen the whole series myself and I enjoyed it well enough but the setup of High School Girl Rock Band doesn't really last long before it's 'Hey rather than practice why not joke around, be moe and eat cakes?' lol. It has it's moments but it isn't anything like as good as its reputation would have you believe. Especially back around when it aired and the year or so afterwards when I remember it being a true phenomenon. If I recall a guy in Japan bought and modeled a house to perfectly reflect that of a character in the series, an entire house! lol.

The steelbook for Belle is very pretty. I didn't actually see Summer Wars until a year or so ago and I loved the whole family in that giant traditional house. The actual game/social media component to that I found slightly less compelling but I've enjoyed most of Hosoda's work so far, only Mirai fell alittle flat for me. Hopefully I'll find Belle a return to form.

Megalo Box is on my own to get list, the series is related to Ashita No Joe so I'd like to finally watch all of that (though probably not necessary) before trying this spin off. Apparently the video quality on the first series is strange where the director for some reason wanted the show to look like a Digital SD series upscaled. Which I mean they could've achieved that by just producing the show in SD but from what I understand it was made in HD and then had filters applied to make it look worse? This is somewhat second hand information but I think this is the case with this show which is so weird lol

That Artbox is really cool for Hunter x Hunter, didn't know they made a boxset version. Love the main cast of this show, I really need to get back to the 2011 version. I watched it up to episode 50 but have yet to return to it and it's been a number of years now. Love the artwork that Viz used across the sets and the colored spines on each volume look really cool. Unfortunately the slipcovers on the original releases are all colored the same.
