I have always liked how both Barbossa and Sparrow do genuinely love the Black Pearl.

Personally, I love the first three movies. The 4th one was good, as Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush still held that incredible chemistry they had from he first three that pulls you into the films. Plus Keith Richards coming back as Captain Teague was also really good, but that's where it ends for me. While the fifth movie had some nice moments, it definitely didn't have that flair the previous movies had. Like Jack's usual charisma to think quickly on his feet for escapes, very much seemed like pure dumb luck in the fifth one.

You know, that is one of my favorite scenes in the franchise, as Barbossa retells the tale of the destruction of the Pearl, you can tell he was scarred, both physically AND mentally, forced to hack off his own leg to escape, and God knows what else to survive before he became a privateer, BUT, he is still hell bent on having his revenge... he's been maimed, he's been beaten, but he will never be broken, and when he straps on his old hat at the end, and says "make way for TORTUGA!", it always makes me smile.

Rush was such an amazing actor for this role. The way he tells his story and fight against blackbeard with all tell and no show but you still can feel the events and hatred he has.

honestly might be my favorite scene in the whole series, i just love how you can see their “hello old friend” vibe. they aren’t friends but they definitely aren’t enemies. they’re old pals and it shows every time they have a conversation alone together

I love these two guys determination : Jack was always willing to do anything for the pearl, no matter if he had to plan something for 10 years or more. Barbossa was willing to go as far as possible to get his revenge on Blackbeard, cuz you don't attack the pearl, cause Barbossa to lose his leg and get away with it. I also love how despite being mortal enemies at some point, neither Jack nor Barbossa took their chance to stab each other in the back, they always settled their feud in the most honorable way.
