How To Fix Your Slice in 15 Shots:

Do you want to hit that tight draw? Keep watching...

In this video Matt Walter helps you find your swing and fix your slice so you can hit a tight little draw like a Tour player on a Sunday afternoon on the back 9.

Matt starts off by showing you what happens to the golf club in order to hit a draw instead of a slice. Then he shows us an amazing "feel drill" that makes hitting a draw feel like second nature.

Such ungrateful public, the instructions are meant for some like myself who can only hit a straight ball or a fade but can not hit a draw. Mr Walter clearly stated "Fix your slice" so his exaggerated club face and swing path will shock a slicer with the opposite results of what he is used to seeing and it is up to him/her to adjust. If you are a Pro or swing like Duval, this is not a channel for such rude comments/criticism. Thank you very much Mr Walter for taking the time to demo this simple and free instruction video, by far one of the best I come across.

great idea with the base sticks. But the inside take away is dangerous - it could cause all sort of problems if the person trying to hit a draw doesn't what to look out for.

Thank you for this simple imagery. It really helps. Some people get a bit too literal with the baseball geometry, but for me, your descriptions were very helpful.

Good demonstration
1. Club path inside: connect arm with torso
2. Club face closed: shake hands with first base

Tried this at the range and improved right away. Always have trouble with the big slice with the driver. So much so that I took the driver out my bag. Tried keeping my left arm tucked in to my rib cage and I am now hitting it straight or even a slight right to left which is fantastic after years of slice. Simple thing to try. Excellent advice.

What about the grip on the club? Is it more over, even or to the left?

Great video. I thought what you said was crystal clear but, alas, some people have to complicate things.

thank you fo rthe lesson
my question is: is this a drill or, the way to swing the club?
my concern is that both the take away and down swing look really flat.
or is it me?
I do understand the important of shallowing the club on the down swing but the demonstration looks really flat...
Thank you

Great video. Have a teen golfer who developed an over the the top move. Maybe this will help.

All of these drills are fine and dandy, and I get all the concepts, but it's hard to do all the steps in tempo.

Why so complicated? Just set up square to where you want the ball to start. Then open or close the clubface to aim at where you want the ball to finish. Then make a swing for a straight shot. This way you can use the same swing on every shot.

Where would a left handed golfer use as a guide?

Couldn’t be further from correct. Swinging in to in with square to the arc club face and swing path will accomplish a baby draw.

First base is 60* off the target line which runs from the pitcher's mound out to second base and into center field, and no one in golf swings 60* from the target line to successfully hit a draw. The second baseman on a ball diamond plays at only 30* off the target line, so the relationship might be clearer to golfers if we say that swinging at the second baseman while having our clubface at impact pointing at the 'gap' between the second base bag (our target line) and the second baseman results in a draw.

You need to distinguish between the "base" and the "baseman" swinging to the base will be different then swinging where the baseman plays. The second baseman is where you need to swing because he plays to the right of the second base. If you swing to the first base side it will be way to right and that's not good. Feel verses Real and understanding the differences is vitally important. Your stick to the right of second base is not "first base", because they are 90 degree's to the right of one another, however where the second baseman plays, now that's different. you not agree?
