I honestly like the new designs because it seems more original and unique. In my eyes taking random characters from video games to put it in your show or YouTube series doesn’t make it seem unique or original. Saiko, Tari, Kaizo, Axol, all the SMGs (specifically 0, 1, and 2), Karen, Susan, Melony, and etc are examples of originality.

TL;DR: I 100% agree with this video in that the old designs and newest designs are good while the middle Cocomelon ones were weird.

Everyone hates on the newer designs like the official WOTFI 2020 and 2021 merch didn't happen and literally SHOWED THE REAL DESIGNS for SMG 3 and 4. Don't get me wrong, I will miss the old SMGs because of the stupid Mario faces they were given sometimes, but I've grown to like the new designs.
The Cocomelon looking ones were a bit weird though. Seeing one of the "Mario does pranks" (where 4's design is) and "Mario reacts to Nintendo Memes" (where 3's design is) videos gave me whiplash, 4 more than 3 (somehow).
I know there's more videos with those Cocomelon designs, but those were the 1st ones I saw.
