2:46 The pencil is for when you get cassette tape salad, that's what you call it when the tape once in a while got tangled up in the mechanics of the cassette player. Then you had to carefully unwind it, and then you used a pencil to wind the tape back into the cassette by putting the pencil in one of the two wheels on the cassette and turning the pencil around and rewinding the tape back into the cassette.

0:53 The symbol you point to is not a symbol for youtube rewind, but means rewind in general. It was on the button you used to rewind the cassette tape / Vhs tape and other players where you used tape and had to rewind it.

The clip of you speaking is from your first video in Chapter 2 Season 2 when you were opening the Agency vault. That video is iconic to me which is why i remember it.

Not sure if anyone has informed Lachlan about why there was a pencil in the gift box but that’s how we used to fix our tapes in case the cassette player started eating the tape. You put the pencil in one of the cassette holes and spun it all back into the casing.
