We went to World Time UK (2024) and saw a bunch of amazing microbrands from all around the globe. The future of the watch industry does look bright when you look at the plethora of microbrands and speak with the passionate people behind those brands!

There were a lot of brands we didn't have the chance to interview, but we are committed to shining a light on the Microbrand scene and highlighting the amazing watches that we see along the way.

I don't think you could call Hanhart a microbrand, more a small independent. They've been around and earned their stripes. I love the 417ES, in fact it's on my wrist as I type. More watch brands with more offerings will result in greater bang for buck and elevated production standards. No complaints here...

So I had picked up a Geckota Airstream on sale, was showing it to my doctor, who is also a watch geek, and turns out he had just purchased a Vintage Highley band on Watchgecko lol. It truly is a small world we live in. (The airstream is my favorite of my 3 Geckotas and if you need a strap just buy the highly, I have several and all are top notch).

I like the differences between all these brands I do think microbrands are the future I think eventually they’ll be able to make COSC movements much more affordable and at that point the watch game will change drastically.

Yes, they are. I think microbrands have reached a point to compete with the big ones. Rolex is some kind of boring and the prices are much too exaggerated. Omega releases too much limited watches of the same kind. I like the idea, that you can get more joy from a Hanhart than from a Submariner. My last purchase is a Timex Camper and I love it.

They are, but only as long as movements are available from bigger players. Without that they are gone.

Most definitely not. It’s a fad just like micro breweries were. There are too many to choose from and have no history or credibility

My only interest in Hanhart in this lineup. Also I appreciatete the designs, but I’d rather pay more for their watches with a bit more craft than an off the shelf movement. That’s what largely keeps these brand more affordable.
