Max freestanding handstand hold

Time cap: 20 minutes

Handstand Hold must be completed during block three of competition, between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19.

Presented by US Army

NOTES
This event begins with the athlete standing outside the 4-by-4-foot box. The judge will start the time when both of the athlete's hands are placed inside the designated handstand area and both feet are off the ground.

The event is over when the athlete touches or reaches beyond the border of the designated box with their hand, or when the athlete’s foot or head touches the ground. Athletes will have 20 minutes from their declared start time to find their max hold. Within the 20-minute window, athletes may make as many or as few attempts as they like.

The athlete’s score will be the total time they remained on their hands inside the designated box.

it's amazing how easy this move can be for some but so difficult for others

There are some elements of Crossfit i a few I struggle to appreciate. The handstand is one of them :-(

I like how he put that chalk spot on the ground in the middle, looks like he used that to stare at to keep balance. I remember in middle school my PE teacher would tell us to stare at a certain spot on the ground we can identify and keep staring while we hold one leg up to stretch our quad. It helped keep our balance surprisingly well.

If Crossfiters would learn BASIC gymnastic skills they would be so much better. Fittest on earth my ass! 90 seconds! Durante does one for 7 minutes. Matt's shoulder mobility is atrocious so he's using pure strength the entire time. He starts tiring after 14 seconds because of it. Just go make weightlifting into cardio and stop calling this junk gymnastics
