Winter brings new challenges to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as Russia started to advance from multiple directions. The Bakhmut region remains one of the toughest, as Russians are trying to reclaim the territories they lost this summer. We visited two artillery units to learn what Winter warfare is like, what makes the Polish-made AHS Krab so good, and why Ukraine needs more modern Western equipment.

Polish AHS Krab self-propelled howitzers are characterized by extraordinary speed, mobility, comfort and precision of the guidance system. It is a house for the crew, there is heating and air conditioning. Each AHS Krab is equipped with a VHF radio, you can listen to music and news, and even a kettle, stove and microwave.
The software relieved the physical burden of gunmen who tirelessly destroy Russian equipment.

I know that far away countries like Portugal might not get why... But us here in Poland where I'm from and countries around Scandinavia, Germany, Czech rep. We have to do more.
Otherwise certain European countries may face extinction event. Let's be honest Eastern Finland, Northern Japan, Koningsberg, Transnistria etc... are lost, speak Russian or die policy is still in place.

AHS Krab: "What do you have there? Indian shells? These will keel!"
Pzh 2000: "Om noe! My autoloader is dirty and was supposed to be maintained yesterday. I won't fire anything!"

I’m surprised that troops and equipment do not have winter camouflage.

Krab is a monster but need active protection. At the beginning, many Krabs were damaged/destroyed due to the fault of the Ukrainians, because they were standing in the middle of the field or ammunition wagons were standing next to Krabs when there was no loading and then they were easily spotted by the Lancets

Gloria a Ucrania.

That's not a 152mm 2S3 Akatsiya but rather a 122mm 2S1 Gvozdika.

It sounds funny when everywhere they say „self propelled” instead just say Howitzer 😅 I don’t think that it’s necessary to distinguish that when we can see the unit on the video.

If you look at the Roof HMG NSV 12.7x99 NATO version HMG is on the AHS Krab the 2S3 lacks one although it can be fitted to use one Ukrainian-made part but needs a Polish 12.7x99 NATO Bolt and barrel
