Literally, I was expecting the “Mojaxx Review” to update my Serato DJ to the Serato DJ Pro. Cheers!!

Checking off the hi-res display setting alone gets this video a giant THUMBS UP 👍 Thank you!

Practice mode is huge for me. There are times I can't get behind my decks for prolonged periods, but at least now I can try out and conceptualize mixes for when I can.

I love the new user interface, I think the black just looks awsome and a lot better than the gray. Also I rly like the new pad lay-out it rly looks good

As always, rename your existing version of serato dj before you upgrade just in case. The notes say that this version WILL OVERWRITE YOUR EXISTING INSTALLATION. A word to the wise is sufficient.

Super excited about practice mode. That was honestly the only reason why I was gonna buy the DJ2Go2 so that I can do stuff without sitting in front of my NS7III. Super hyped about that!

It’s cool. I’ve been messing with the beta for a while but...is it enough?

i heard the words" NO ISSUES at all" .i ve been a Serato DJ user for years and to me "NO ISSUES" = Scratch Live, definitely not Serato DJ! i don't know about Serato DJ pro, i m gonna start messing around with it tonight with pleasure for sure. but i wanna know how many ppl here have had issues such as "stability problem / audio dropouts / usb buffer turn red /tempo goes extremly fast or slow when switch to init mode / interface frozen / etc... " on Serato DJ during their important shows before. (macbook pro 13 2016). i m looking forward to see pro's future performance:) offline practice mode is really good though

Yep, it all LOOKS juicy on the surface but wait untill you look under the hood fam and see what it's doing to your CPU! In a nutshell Serato has turned an energy efficient program into a real gas guzzling monster! Serato DJ utilized 12% of a 4th gen Intel i5 2.5 Ghz (base) processor and runs between 99.0 - 1.06 GHz. That's a very comfortable setting for most Intel processors. Serato DJ Pro however utalizes 42% of the same prosesser and runs mostly at 2.99 ghz! That's the i5 more or less constantly in turbo boost, not at all comfortable. Serato DJ Pro also caused the fan on a HP Probook 640 G1 to constantly engage, on an SSD! That my friends is not an improvement by any means. My advice to anyone using Windows is go into Task Master and click on the performance tab and see just what speed Serato DJ Pro is running your CPU at and how much of it is being utalized. I personally do not like any fan needing to be constantly engaged when using any software especially with SSD as they do not heat up like a hardrive. I find 4th gen Intel processors being pushed out in this respect a little harsh. This coupled with the Meltdown and Spectre scares just all look a bit suss! But at least 4th gen has been patched there. It's like a huge coperate tech culling has been augmented by the powers that be and I am the last person wanting to see this. So, personally I have rolled back to SDJ 1.9.10 in an effort to save my half decent HP 640 G1 as finding £1000+ for a new machine is too much and even if I could how many new machines are running 2.99 GHz @ base Serato? I will tell you, next to none!

Question: How do you keep you set saved after exiting out the program? Every time I come back to the program the songs aren’t in the same order.

Thanks

this looks like RB to me. For so long it looked like RB was trying to catch Serato. As a RB user - I think Pioneer has finally reached the tipping point. Its such an amazing piece of software - never had any issues. If you have not - time to make the switch. Just got the DDJ 1000 - I am good to go !

good info I use a Pioneer DDJSX2. and I look forward to using the offline practice feature when I travel . also I like the 8 samples option instead of only 6. that's a big deal...

2 decks mode ... Virtual dj, Mixvibes cross, Atomix... Had this that function for almost 10 years ago... Now some people (me included) can mix without a soundcard lol if i forgot my SL4 or for a sudden simple party.
Serato is the best tho. And has to be mentionned.

The update corrupted a little bit of my iTunes music and I don’t know why. I have never had a problem like this before. Is they’re anyway I can fix this or should I just go back down to Serato DJ?

have they updated bpm analyzation? because that to me was always really bad for serato

It's really too bad you aren't able to plug in your Pioneer DDJ-SP1 when in offline mode to set cue points, play around with it, etc etc.
