FULL SPEECH: Donald Trump remarks at the Economic Club in Detroit | LiveNOW from FOX

Former President Donald Trump was in the state on Thursday afternoon to speak at the Detroit Economic Club (DEC). This event was only open to members of the club and their guests.

Trump was last in Michigan a week ago for a rally in Saginaw. He had also previously visited Detroit when he spoke at the National Guard Association Conference in August. His other visits to Michigan have been scattered around the state.

Trump's DEC stop comes just two days after his vice presidential candidate JD Vance visited Eastern Market.

During that visit, Vance touched on electric vehicles and auto manufacturing, encouraged voters to cast their ballot early, and showered his running mate Donald Trump with praise. He also made a prediction about his trips to the state.

"I'm going to be in Michigan like 30 times," he said.

This week's visits and any future visits come as Michigan voters have already begun casting their ballots. Absentee ballots started heading out to voters in late September, and early voting starts soon.

As Detroiter, born and raised at first hearing those comments in just a 1 min clip had me appalled. Then I thought like i always do lets see the full context of the video so I watched. From the beginning of the video until the part those remarks were made 55:00 he talked souly about the auto industry how jobs are being loss in the US to overseas due to companies trying to cut losses and foreign companies not paying equal terrifs. When the comment "just like Detroit" he was obviously referring to the auto industry and how it impacts the city when these companies cut jobs. Any other conclusion is honestly just being disingenuous. Dudes not perfect nor the most articulate but saying he "ripped on the city" is a stretch. As an auto worker I seen jobs moved to other 3rd party companies within our own plants and overseas its common pratice sadly. Im not even saying what he is propsing is the best way to combat it but I am saying i dont believe he ripped on my city. Some people just want to hate him and their mines are already made but objectively speaking yall mfs are reaching and overly sensitive
