I'm in the middle of book 10 of Malazan and I can confidently say that it's taken over the top spot for my favorite series from Wheel of Time. The way Erickson BRILLIANTLY is bringing everything together is absolutely incredible storytelling. His world building is insanely complex and consistent, his characters feel real, and the series has expanded my perspective on a lot of things.

I just started reading The Lies of Locke Lamora because of you.
I’m about 1/3 through so far. I wasn’t really feeling it for the first 30 or so pages but after that it really picked up for me and I’m really enjoying it so far.

Honestly, 3 of those would easily make it to my top 5 and I didn't know of the Gentlemen Bastards but your pitch totally sold it to me.

After you finish Hitchhiker's, if you're looking for more stuff from Douglas Adams, I really enjoyed the Dirk Gently series

Discworld would 100% be my favorite series of all time. If you have not read anything from Terry Pratchett, I'm sure you'll love him, from how you talk about enjoying theme writing, and diving into human nature. Pratchett had a great understanding of humankind, I learnt a lot by reading him. Also, he's absolutely hilarious when he wants to.
