Running O gauge train on battery power via bluetooth smart

Показать описание
Maiden voyage of an O gauge loco with a BlueRail board operating on battery power. The majority of 3-Rail (and all 2-Rail) locos will operate on DC power, making them great candidates for battery power operation. You will be surprised how much smoother the same loco will operate on battery power vs. track power. No matter how well you clean your track, all the micro-imperfections of conducting electricity from track through the wheels have a visible affect on performance. I'm not telling you this to hype battery operation - its just an observation I've made from operating the same loco under both conditions for a variety of locos.

well I think I'm hooked on this whole dead rail idea. as this will be the way going forward for both vintage trains and modern trains in G scale.

Thanks!!! Nice to see the board in a 3 rail O gauge locomotive! Can't wait for the boards to be available! Take care, Joe.

Great video. I use a bluetooth app on my garden railway with battery trains.

Like the idea, will the headlight use up a lot of the battery power? If so what is going to be the run time under the head light & a load of rolling stock? Thanks.

Why not get rid of that unrealistic middle rail?

It seams to me that O gauge motors are uncapable of ultra slow speed. How come? Starts and stops are jerky. Any ideas?

If you make your lights LEDs they draw very little power. Pulling 5-6 cars you can run for 2 - 2.5 hrs on a single charge. The loco has a BlueRail plugin board that can be operated by iOS or Android. The boards are available at BlueRailTrains.com. This first board supports 2 amps (see details on the site) so it is not suitable for trains with big current draws, but many people have been adding them to smaller O and G trains.

Ive got a Lionel RS3 that crapped out on me a while ago that I need to try this with. Remove all dead weight, rollers, circuits, etc. Replace the internals with a massive battery, reciever, and compact lead weights. Could even do battery DCC and have, sound functions.

I would love to see like G or O scale locos capable of accepting DeWalt or Milwaukee power tool LI batteries for power!!

How did you connect your phone to the engine???? I'm sitting up late at night right now trying to figure out how to do this.

I have a 1951-52 Lionel Berkshire smoke and headlight. Do you think a battery system might work with this?

I'm interested in this. Is there a site, company, or person I can go to for a conventional o'scale train conversion? I do not know if this is something I can do myself. I think I would first like to just convert the controls to blunomi first, then maybe later look into using batteries. I tend to want to pull many cars and I like to run trains for a while, so I'm not sure battery conversion is good for me, but I defiantly am interested in converting conventional to blunomi. - Any help is appreciated from anyone. - Thanks.

What size is the battery? 2 or 3 Cells. mAh? What is the biggest battery you can use without frying the system?

When are you going to come out with the AC bored For o gauge?

Why did you chose bluetooth over wifi?
