David Raya’s Super Save & The Error Which Cost 10-Man Southampton Three Points! The Keepers Corner

The new season is here and Ben and Dave Watson are back to analyse the Premier League keepers on opening weekend! 

Coming up in this episode, the boys look at a super save from Arsenal’s David Raya to deny Wolves’ new boy Jorgen Strand Larsen, what a moment that was! 

Amadou Onana scored on his Premier League debut for Aston Villa as he headed home from a corner, but could Alphonse Areola do a bit more to deny him? 

The lads also look at other key movements leading to goals including Neto for Bournemouth against Nottingham Forest and Alex McCarthy for Southampton away at Newcastle.

Newcastle decided to sit back and just allowed Southampton to have the ball because they had to play about 70 minutes with 10 men so had to preserve energy. They done the right thing by sitting back. That’s why Southampton had 19 shots and Newcastle only had 3.

Man, i felt like we could have scraped a single point from that Arsenal game if that Strand Larsen header goes in just before half time.

Coming out to the 2nd half of 1-0 instead of 1-1 really put us on the back foot.
