Is the ice tray supposed to fit on the front and back bracket. Somehow mine came out on the front. Not sure if is should only order the tray of the whole ice making unit?

I have a cylinder of ice that keeps forming and blocking that water outlet port for the water (visible when the maker is removed) on this model. Any idea would could be causing it to keep refreezing? I keep having to use a hair dryer to melt it to have it be able to slide out.
