Beauty and the Beast Live- Prologue

The King's Academy, a National Blue Ribbon, Christian school in South Florida, recently presented "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" on its main stage in the new Page Family Center for Performing Arts. Starring TKA senior Gracie O'Connor (Belle), senior Casey Gustafson (Beast), junior Chris Pappas (Lumiere), senior Graham Popadic (Cogsworth), senior Kate Higgins (Mrs. Potts), and senior Sam Cornelius (Gaston), this performance showcased TKA’s fine young talent.

TKA’s Conservatory of the Arts, a two-time American High School Theatre Festival award-winning fine arts program, is led by Mr. David Snyder (Artistic Director, Musical Theater, Department Chair), Mrs. Sonia Santiago (Vocal Arts), Mrs. Cathy Higgins (Dance- Ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz), Miss Riselle Portuondo (Dance- Ballet and Modern), Miss Sarah Fahey (Theatre Arts), Mr. Brad Majzner (Stagecraft), Mr. David Skinner (Instrumental Director), Mr. Wes Lowe (Assistant Band Director), Mr. Patrick Clifford (Strings), Mrs. Macey Norton (Video/Digital Arts), Mrs. Laura McFaden (Visual Art), Miss Stephanie Revell (Elementary Choir, Woodwinds), and Mrs. Robin Phillips (Piano).

When I heard this one in kindergarten in the mid'90s it changed my life forever. The legendary intro theme stuck in my head and I doubt it will ever go away ❤️ Since then, I wanted to become a composer and I just got my first instrumental released!

I loved watching this musical from Kings Academy, it makes me enjoy the show a lot more, coming from a amateur production. The acting and the fighting near the end of the show, willy sets the tone for the rest of the show.

Once upon a time in a far away land a young prince lived in a shining castle and although he had everything his heart desired the prince was spoiled selfish and unkind but one winter's night an old begger woman came to the castle and offered him a single rose in return for shelter from the bitter cold repulsed by her haggard appearance the prince sienred at the gift and turned the old woman away but she warned him not to be deceived by appearances for beauty is found with in and when he dismissed her again the old woman's ugliness melted away to reveal a beautiful entanetress the prince tried to apologize but it was too late for she had seen that there was no love in his heart so as punishment she transformed him into a hideous beast placed a powerful spell on the castle and all who lived there ashamed of his monsters from the beast concealed himself inside his castle with a magic mirror as his only window to the outside world but the rose she had offered was truly an enchanted rose which would bloom until his 21st year if he could learn to love another and earn her love in return by the time the last petal fell then the spell would be broken if not he would be doomed to remain a beast for all time as the years passed he fell into despair and lost all hope for who could ever learn to love a beast
