In this video tour of my workshop dedicated to hand and treadle-powered tools from the 1900.s, I express gratitude to a friend for her support and collaboration. I introduce the concepts of hand crank power tools and treadle-powered tools, explaining their manual operation and versatility without electricity. My workshop, situated underground for consistent temperatures, showcases various sections including woodworking, leather working, and metalworking areas. I provide detailed demonstrations and explanations for tools like the metal lathe, forge, and drill press, each with its unique history and functionality. My collection includes antique tools like hammers, planes, hand drills, and saws, some dating back to the 1700's. I highlight restoration efforts, emphasizing the preservation of vintage tools for future generations. I offer practical advice on acquiring antique tools, whether through local sources, online platforms, or auctions. I reflect on the importance of passing down craftsmanship and tools to future generations, emphasizing the connection between past, present, and future legacies in craftsmanship.

That's not only a workshop, it's a living museum. New to your site. Very impressive. Well done Sir 👏

Great tour! I started my woodworking journey acquiring many power tools. It wasn't until I made a Moravian workbench using mostly hand tools that I got the bug. I flattened the laminated top using a $25 Stanley plane and started selling off my largest tools first. A spring pole lathe build is in my future. Typically with hand tools, no noise, no airborne dust and no hearing protection needed, that is why I love it.

I appreciate getting an in-depth look at your shop and hearing from you! I still maintain that your way of doing things and your choice in traditional ways and your presentation of it is amongst the best on YouTube in my opinion.

Incredible.
In Brazil, the country where I currently live, it is very rare to find tools from the old school.
It was great to find your YouTube channel, you became a perfect reference for me.
I'm a computer engineer and I work all the time with high technology like nanotechnology, quantum computing and artificial intelligence, but my hobby is old school where I relax away from technology in my studio with old tools.
Thank you for sharing your work.
I wish you success!

Thank you Boris for the tour around your workshop. You have certainly managed to fit in a lot in a small area and you obviously look after your shop equally as well as you look after your tools. It re-enforces the saying that vintage tools were made to last unlike many of the tools we see manufactured today. Thank you for the video.

The way you keep your shop shows in the work you do. The scenery on the end of the video was enjoyable as well.

Fantastic, I could sit in your shop for hours just looking at all the tools. As I have stated before I have some of my😢 great grandfather’s tools he was born in the 1850’s. Also have some newer tools that I didn’t realize were antique or considered vintage. Thanks for a great channel.

It is so inspiring to see dedication to the craftsmanship and beauty of the past. I do hope that you are able to encourage others to develop a love of slow workmanship and excellence. Your melding of the new technology of YouTube with the old tools of yesteryear is masterful. In my own small way I have tried to do honour to old pieces and tools - with varying results. Please keep creating and recording your skills. Thank you from Australia.
