I've been saying for years this guy is the MOST underrated BJJ practitioner on Youtube bar none. His tip on the arm drag is THE BEST TIP I've ever learned about the arm drag. It's shocking how it is not widespread by now because it is a total game changer for successfully getting to the back from the arm drag. I just watched Danaher's instructional on the arm drag and it is deficient when you compare to the tips you get on the arm drag from this guy. I sincerely hope he gets onto BJJfanatics because I feel like he needs exposure to the greater BJJ worldwide community and deserves the recognition.

Im so glad there is a cultural pushback on pulling guard in BJJ. Is going to keep us dangerous on our feet.

However...sometimes pull guard, keep that skill too.

How often? Just fuckin sometimes bro.

Awesome communicator/instructor. Terrific mindset that will improve his students….folks training under instructors like this probably don’t understand how lucky they are

I really liked your use of the word “wisdom”. There is a difference between knowledge and wisdom and that there got me thinking about how your stand up recommendations apply to the ground game, too.

Hey man, great video! I started following your channel a couple of months ago when we decided to practice wrestling with my friends. I´ve never had experience in wrestling, only in striking. But in these two months I got so much neck problems while wrestling and practicing, like never before. So to get a practical video from a pro like you on how to train and get a good neck for wrestling and a general warm-up before the session, would be amazing! Thanks in advance!

Hey Coach! Great video. Could you do a video on how to properly absorb impact from mat returns and throws? Would be highly beneficial I feel. Appreciate you!

The head height one surprises me. I always thought I had trouble shooting because I tend to be postured up too high and then dropping for a shot is a relatively long way to get down to a leg. The way it is explained here makes sense though. So to shoot it looks like I really do need to be more athletic - if you can recommend a video that breaks down the steps to becoming strong / athletic and technical enough to shoot I'd love to see it!

This is INVALUABLE information. Thank you for sharing - I hope people understand how powerful these tips are. Also, nice comedic relief with the "God blessing you with an underhook" line. If only all my opponents would just give me a free standing underhook! Just all around great video and advice - thanks for always making the content digestible and for normalizing the situations/mistakes we all make every day in training.

Coach Adam, thank you SO much for these videos. You have a real knack for laying out detailed information in a concise way that's easy to digest. I will DEFINITELY be plugging these in over the next couple of days. Yer awesome, Sir!

PS: Do you think we might be able to clone Big Jake? I think EVERYONE wants a copy. Ha ha! 🤩😆

Awesome video!! Thanks for the advice!! I think pulling guard is a fundamental part of jiu-jitsu, so long as it's not coming from the inability to do takedowns. This is a game after all.

You can't choke or submit people in wrestling for example, which is unrealistic, but that's not the point. It's a different game with different rules

The worst thing that can happen if you get taken down is you get injured and can’t do jujitsu. Especially if over 50 and your partner is 20.

@3:29 the biggest thing is it depends on what you do with that back up because I didn’t lock up when I wrestled or anything. I always moved into them when they raise their arm up. I was on their legs. I was turning the corner and I had my take down.
