I have a similar proportional dwarfism. Shauwna has the only difference is I am in a wheelchair, but I’m a get mistaken for a child a lot of times. I think part of it is the way that they framed her. She has to act mature she needs to dress mature and people get confused when they see someone her size, jumping up and down, throwing a fit or doing things that a child will do. I have learned that if I want people to respect me as an adult, I need to act like an adult at all times. This being said she needs to stop saying I’m not adult trapped in a child’s body when she needs to just say I have Dwarfism and leave it at that. There are over 200 types of dwarfism and not all of them. Look the same. People dwarfism can go to school and have relationships and have children and you also do wonderful things. Part of it is her parents keep treating her like a child until those two things change people are gonna give different looks.

I really don’t like the tone of this video. You are going on the premise that there must be something “ wrong” or “ creepy” about Dan because he like Shauna. I must disagree. That would imply that Dan, who is very clearly successful and good looking, must have something wrong with him ( mentally) for liking her. I think it’s great that he likes her. Why can’t a successful man have an interest in dating Shauna? Shauna is so pretty, smart, and personable, I don’t see why a guy wouldn’t want to date her. She’s a woman, like any other woman, just a little shorter. So what?

I feel so bad for her ... Unless she dies alone it will always be a hurdle, she can not and does not wants date an actual child for obvious reasons, any guy who is around her age will straight up be labelled as "possible ped0" and be shamed by other people ... There is no way to win in her situation ... I truly believe Dan was touched by the show. I think he genuinely saw her as a person, struggling to make her way in this world and he reached out to her to voice his admiration and hopefully give her a glimpse into how life is supposed to be for young people making their way. She was so sheltered that he wanted to give her some freedom and life experiences. I never saw him being forward or inappropriate towards her. He just wanted to taste life. Share how robust his own life is and let her see that she has no limits.
For those who judge and say it's wrong, well put yourself in Shauna's shoes and then tell us you'd be ok dating a 3rd grader all your life. She's an adult, let her enjoy her life.

Shauna is pretty in her own way but not only does she look like a child.. she sounds and acts like one too. That makes it kinda creepy to be interested in her..If she was more mature i wouldn't find it weird for a grown man to date her but the way she acts and talks does make her a child in my opinion...

I think it is BS on this post! Shauna is 23 not 8! She can date who she wants and no one should call a man a creeper because he dates someone with dwarfism. I got it always being 4 ft 8 in and weighing 80 pounds. When I met my husband I was 23 everyone said he was dating a teenager. When my 23 birthday came my husband had the bakery put happy seventeenth birthday! That made his workplace talk even more! I was a teen mom at 18. The doctor who delivered my daughter told me and my mom I was creating quite a stir. He said they want to know my age and he smiled and said they think you are 12! . It sure gets old as I am sure it does for Shauna. Now I am an old lady and it all wasa lifetime ago. But let us both realize Shauna is not a child and none of us should ever ever call any man she dates as a creeper.

Think about how hard it would be to be out in public. So many would assume that’s his daughter. It’s gonna happen and then to make matters worse what if he kisses her in public” they will look at that, like why is this man kissing his daughter. Police get called and then this poor young lady shows her ID and it makes upset. Unfortunately this is the reality of this poor woman’s dating life.

2) Shauna does not look young at all. She looks her age in her face, which is why the title of the show is odd. She has dwarfism and her body is small. However, she is not a child.
