As the Gujarat Assembly election inches closer, the political parties - through a streak of rallies - have intensified their efforts to reach a large number of people. Amidst the high pitched contest, Rajdeep Sardesai reaches the action spot in Gujarat to gauge the mood on-ground and which ways are the scales tipping.

The Centre has rejected the names of senior advocates recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium for elevation as High Court judges, said sources on Tuesday. While sending the files back to the top court, the Centre has urged it to reconsider the proposal for the elevation of senior advocate Saurabh Kirpal as a Judge in the Delhi High Court. Senior Lawyer Saurabh Kripal belongs to the LGBT community and is the son of former Chief Justice of India BN Kirpal.
