Nebraska is done with the first half of this season after a 14-7 win on Saturday against Rutgers. The second half, starting with a bye week, is here. It looks like a difficult road to navigate for coach Matt Rhule and the Huskers. But is it harder than originally anticipated?

Dont doubt the Hoosiers, yall. Thats what they want you to do. The chip has worked so far this season. They may have the better overall coaching staff. The best qb or 2nd best qb in the conference so far. It's homecoming weekend. And as of today, other than a few sparce tickets, it's gonna be a sell-out. And if you have watched them at all, you'd see that their offense is special. And they can pressure the qb. The o-line has been terrific as well. Gonna need all hands on deck including special teams.

For the last half strength, Indiana is tougher but UCLA is easier so I think its a wash. Not harder than we thought it would be.

Our first half was harder though cuz I thought Illinois and rutgers would be easier.

Illinois, Rutger, and Colorado only have 1 loss, so is the second half of the schedule really more difficult?

I think people want the blood sacrifice to appease the gods, BUT, I think in the interest of continuity, let's sertle down, drop the pitchforks, and allow these guys the chance to correct the mistakes. Too often we've just chopped the head off the monster, and another has regrown. We're not winning the conference this year, nor should we expect that. Let's focus on getting better week to week and I think in a year or two, we're gonna be really happy.

The time zone changes do matter, but it also depends on the distance traveled total. Traveling to Indiana from Washington is tougher, more so because you are an hour farther east in daylight, even though you're in the same time zone. Tom at the airplane isn't really such a huge deal. Your circadian rhythms are going to get thrown off with different sunlight schedules. Also, it is much tougher to travel from west to east than vice versa. Vegas has known this for a long time.
