As a long time MMA fan and a leftist, this is what Dana White does. He calls being a fighter an opportunity, not a career. But here is the thing, the vast majority of fighters and fans are right wing chuds themselves. We can talk about this all we want, but until the fighters themselves realise that a union of fighters with their collective bargaining power is the only way to prevent guys like Dana White and other billionaires use their overwhelming capital power. WWE and MMA has pioneered the use of independent contractors. In the future more and more companies will use that as a way to evade any labour and employment laws

That's insane. I used to do jiu jitsu. I didn't fight professionals but many of the guys I trained with could've killed me (easily). And that was just grappling and take downs.
Itd take a lot more money than that for me to take that risk.
