Have you ever made a game with strangers on the internet or do you want to?
Let me know. I'm quite curious. :P

I'm actually inside Butterscotch Shenanigans' gamejam: *Shenanijam* right now with a team of strangers.
I'm a little bit fatigued from development right now so i'm here.
What a refreshing vid to watch!
Great stuff Jonas! Keep 'em coming!

This also requires a tremendous amount of luck, whenever I worked with others they always left after a while or were always extremely late with everything(after rescheduling the milestones over and over again). This happened when I was 13 and tried to make a game with a friend of mine, throughout when I was 25 working with professionals - it's not much better when they get paid either. Better, but not by much. People tend to be completely unreliable, I really envy anyone who can find others whose interest doesn't stop after the initial few weeks.

I really really really want to get into game development and my older brother who’s also addicted to just regular gaming said “try to find a team.” And now i’m here,

Great video! I'm just starting this process myself. I designed a fully working and fun game and have been (novicely) programming it and using placeholder art. I'm making my way through it, but would WAY rather focus just on the designing/balancing to create more and better content, and find others to do the code and art. Definitely going to post the looking for team notice on your discord. Look out for it soon. :)

Interesting topic and well made video 👍, but I personally will stay solo 🙂. You have full control, focus, no communication issues, your game doesn't need to be as successful, because you need to only pay yourself, your can learn much more, its more rewarding and I also love the challenge. I would only team up with close friends, I know I can trust 100%. Of course the whole topic Looks different If you make Games just for fun.

Good Video and great points!! I'm trying to put a team together over a year now for a sweet musical point and click comic/graphic novell kinda game. Me and a friend will do all audio stuff and we found a guy (a programmer) who is interessted in working with us, but we can't find someone who is drawing the characters and the scenes and we don't know what to do at this point.

great job as usual Jonas on your videos. For me just beatly starting on my game dev journey is I plan on going solo first to see how I can handel my obsticle and see how it goes. I already got enviroments and puzzle theme ideas for my game. If i do well alone I will probably stay alone or probably ask a fellow influencer to join my team if they want n be a two person team in the future. :) other than what i said extremley well done job on motivation support.

This is actually an excellent video, Not only fot game devs, But for any kindnof developers, Who are looking for an online team to work on a project, Example : I always wanted to work with a team on something, Because I dont have ALL the skills to creste a whole project by myself, Amd Its also more fun with other people as a team.

The game looks really nice, gonna check it out! One thing that I always ask myself when seeing something like this is "How do they survive, how do they make money?" since this is a very involved job taking a lot of time out of your day. So yeah, apart from the desire to make good art, what's the end goal here? You can't eat praise so how do they manage something like this and why do they not decide to make their lives a bit easier by selling it or accepting donations?

Pure gold like always :) This "checklist" is no where to be found on the net.. huge thanks.
Could you share some specific places to start looking? You mentioned forms and such.. but which ones?

I worked solo up until now but a over the net team sounds interesting, would definitely give it a try

Last year i worked in a team at varsity and it was difficult as well (Was a group of programmers that loved playing games, but we didn't have much game making experience), most group members had these awesome ideas but that was mostly it, some members don't show their ideas, or at least a way for the rest of the group to visualise the ideas, and this is bad because then there is this explosion of ideas but nothing got done. So i totally agree with "showing previous work" and communication is so important, well done to you all for making this game across the world though 😯⏳

I'm a game designer that sells GDD of games to solo devs and teams and I always feel a little sad when I come up with a game with clever design and I know I won't be the one that will develop it.
I would love to find online some programmers and artists and maybe other game designers to make projects together.
Some people in the past offered to work with them, but I said no because they were not even barely professional.
This video was really personal to me
