Both sides I have sympathy for, it is very hard to take care of your parents, especially when they have medical issues, at the same time when they have medical issues they realize the strain they are putting on their kids (or not and just want to be with them) which makes them sad as well.

juan doesn’t deserve his dad. as someone who takes care of their grandparents this was heartbreaking for me to watch. if taking care of his dad is that overwhelming for him then there’s other options like hiring a caretaker. there is no need to verbally berate a poor old man who knows no better and doesn’t even know what’s going on around him💔

My grandma has primary progressive aphasia, she slowly lost her hearing, her ability to form coherent sentences, ability to recognize us, she also had hallucinations and delusions. She would try running away from home everyday, and would sometimes hit us. It was very stressful for my dad but my he never treated her like this man, even if he was late for work he’d make sure to feed her and sometimes bathe her (usually my mom took care of that). My parents always treated her like a human! She lived with us for 6 years (she lives with my aunt now) and I don’t think I have ever seen either of my parents lash out on her even though her condition was way worse than the father in this video. My heart dropped when I saw the way the son reacted. Ik it’s very hard to take care of someone but lashing out won’t fix anything at all.

So for those of you sitting on your high horses might i remind you this is exaggerated REALITY alot of people feel like this, i imagine a few alzheimers patients would actually do this and sure the guy is being a jerk but it would be perfectly natural for someone to break down crying not because they are losing their parent but because its so hard keeping someone anchored to this reality with alzheimers.
